Need to see your routing table on #macOS or #FreeBSD or #Linux ? Type:
netstat -rn
The entry with the "G" flag is your gateway. #Linux users may want to use the ip command (look for "default" entry which is your gateway):
ip route show
One of my favorite new apps I now use all the time is Wunderbar: https://wunderbarapp.com. It puts a single word in a language you're trying to learn, along with its definition, in the macOS menu bar. This changes on a timer you can set. I have mine change every 5 minutes. Worth the $4.
Impressed by how easy it is to run a virtualized MacOS Ventura on Linux with quickemu! I tried some other MacOS virtual machines or Docker images, but none has worked so easily and immediate as with quickemu.
The list of supported RAW file formats in #NeoFinder 8.6 is getting longer and longer, and this time we have added the Olympus ".ORI" format to be cataloged, with thumbnails and metadata...
Tusks is a little indie Mastodon app by @bardi that lets you see just your posts and compose new ones (with a focus on making it easy to compose threads).
Love to see indie devs making useful little tools that do what they say on the tin and nothing more (check out the privacy policy in the attached screenshot).
I often get app crashes on my #oclp powered 2013 iMac and everything points to SideCar, which I don't even want to use. Can I disable that in the #opencorelegacy patcher options? Didn't find anything... #macos
It is only SEVEN years after we had reported this glaring and obvious bug in the ExFAT driver of macOS, and yes, it is still here today in #macOS 14.4.1 #sonoma
No, #Apple, that drive has NOT been created or updated in January 1970.
How I wish Apple would actually start fixing their bugs for once.
And yes, the ExFAT driver in macOS has a LOT more bugs.
Wow, it is #macOS 14.4.1 already, and we are still getting these stupid untitled and misleading "notifications" from the badly designed and completely undocumented "security" features in macOS when adding a launch item.
Oh #Apple.
We had reported this dangerous and stupid bug two years ago already, but of course Apple has ignored it, like thousands of other bugs.
It's a shitshow.
Can't get it to use my calendars, it messes up access privileges , and again after reboot , "System Settings" hangs all the time, external monitors still mess up after waking from sleep, and so much more. #macOS 14 is a really awful experience. #Apple
On #Apple#macOS, you can ssh into the system and unlock your keychain from the cli using the security command. security list shows available keychains and you can unlock specific ones if you have multiple, or simply use security unlock to unlock the default one. This is useful if, like me, you stuff AWS keys into your keychain but want to use aws cli commands remotely. This is definitely a niche but I routinely use my laptop but ssh to my mac mini for certain work.
You could add a visual textual watermark to your converted and exported images and photos in #NeoFinder before, but now you can also add a watermark image as well!
Working with icons on #iOS/ #macOS/ whatever? Take a look at the free app Image2icon, it’s great, I've been using it for a few years by now. So many output options, like app icons for various systems, icon sets, DMG icons, folder icons etc.!
