Ohio parents receive $4 million dollar hospital bill after delivering quadruplets'

They all needed to be admitted to the NICU and each of her four babies ended up staying between 64 days and 147 days which totaled over $4 million, for which all of it was covered by #Ohio #Medicaid

I wonder what the actual amount the hospital got was, because the bills sent to patients' vs Medicaid payment max is greatly inflated. My guess, $250-500K.

Thank goodness Medicaid stepped in

Paid caregiving is one of the US’ fastest growing occupations, but with the low pay and terrible benefits, there’s a huge shortage of workers – and that’s bad for those who need care and the families that have to provide unpaid care, instead.

But a new analysis finds that in Nebraska (and likely elsewhere) boosting wages return $1.40 for every $1.00 in additional tax dollars spent on it.

⚕️ Sigh. One step forward, two steps back. Good overview in this short blog:

"The typical non-subsidized health plan for this family would consume over 40 percent of their pre-tax income. Most people would have their mortgage application rejected by a bank if their mortgage payment made up this share of their income. "

A collection of far-right senators is putting the health of millions of Missourians at risk by engaging in a pointless . The group is demanding that the governor sign a bill to prohibit from receiving any reimbursements, and lawmakers must pass a bill that would make it harder for Missourians to change the . These people are despicable and the Missouri voters should vote them out.

Again, don't like doing this. But better safe than sorry.

I've been dragging my feet at taking the walk to grabbing my official pills because I'm a paranoid fuck about getting slapped with a co-pay I can't afford. So better safe than sorry.

Even though I'm on Medicaid now, I wouldn't put that shit past a pharmacy at this point. Remember when I got slapped with a $70 co-pay when I got 'official' HRT?

Hopefully, I can quit doing this begging sooner rather than later, but that'd require me getting hired.

REMINDER FOR
LAID-OFF & UNEMPLOYED
AMERICANS

there is no shame to use all the social services you have paid with your taxes, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WHITE, MID/HIGH INCOME EARNER.

welfare is racialized in this country to deprive all Americans of the social services WE PAY for.

it’s imperative y’all flood social services offices because if you don't, that's why the griftocracy keeps cutting local, state & federal budgets.

so here’s what you can do after losing your job:

/1

blogdiva,
@blogdiva@mastodon.social avatar
  1. UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS
go to the Labor Dept nearest you & fill out a request for payouts. it is imperative you do so because if your employer didn't pay for the insurance, they get to have the DOL fine their asses.

  2. BEFORE
Medicaid is like Medicare for all but the money & benefits are controlled by the state, not the federal government. NY has one of the best. Mississippi, one of worse. either way, get to the nearest office beforr you cut a check for .

why?

LAID OFF #TECH WORKERS NEED TO ORGANIZE MORE THAN EVER
as high-income earners, you will be encouraged to NOT file for #unemployment, #Medicaid #FoodStamps #HousingRelief even #SocialSecurity. why? you're denying BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to the political kakistocracy who line their pockets with the money y'all don't claim

what this blog offered by @vforberger doesn't tell you is that the Koch Brother's turned Wisconsin into their #fascist laboratory for the last 20 yrs

🗣️ IF YOU WERE LAID OFF RECENTLY, PLEASE GO CLAIM YOUR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS

do y'all know why these fascistas are trying to bring back ? to force families to indenture their children if they want any kind of social services; IF THEY OFFER ANY AT ALL.

most likely, it's to do away with food stamps, benefits, section 8 and housing grants; ALL THE WHILE POCKETING THAT MONEY.

Always looking for ways to make the poor more destitute than they already are, like good christo-fascists do, they have succeeded in making it easier to strip people of the pathetic and inadequate Ky Medicaid system that already provides little care and steals people's houses when they die.

Because the children of the poor should be punished too, by taking their generational wealth away as much as possible. And if your child is disabled or has no other resources and ends up homeless, they don't give a f^ck.

These people are vile and disgusting.
