Here's a look at the newest track from Metaphysical Shitposting! This one was entirely modular/semi modular gear. #MiniBrute2s on one voice, 0-Coast (thru Strega) on one, #Strega doing an intermittent drone and a final voice that was made with noise thru a bandpass filter (WMDevices #C4RBN filter) that then goes thru a flanger (Happy Nerding FX Aid XL).
Delay via Mimeophon; reverb via Desmodus Versio. Both routed via mixer's aux sends.
I got a new toy over the weekend: the Pittsburgh Modular Taiga! It's a bit like if you took the Cre8audio East Beast and West Pest and combined them, then threw in a bunch of extra things, like a preamp, a delay, and a third oscillator. I wasn't really planning on buying this, but I couldn't resist at the price I got it, so I guess I'm going to sell off the East Beast and West Pest.
You folks that find rearranging your #modular case fun are NUTS. I added two modules, which necessitated some shifting around (and one module switching to my control skiff from the main case). it took almost an hour, and I worked my way through almost every swear word I know.
Hung out with a friend on Sunday. We played around with his #synthesizer collection and my Korg SQ-64 sequencer. I still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing with any of this stuff, but I'm having fun with it, at least! :cat_music: 🎶
Metaphysical Shitposting continues to grow and evolve! Just in time for Xmas, I've added a little seasonal gem about my love for #psychedelic journeys around Christmas time. It's called "I Always Love Tripping at Xmas" and, if you were planning to chew up some blotter and stare at the twinkly lights, it's a perfect soundtrack!
New album #ProductionDiary! After an untoward amount of time spent futzing with the second track, I finally set it aside earlier this week, then spent a couple days or so working out a way to move forward.
I landed on setting up and recording some jams, with the intention of slicing them up and building tracks out of/on top of them. After a day's worth of setup and troubleshooting, I came up with this:
#eurorack sale 😁
Figured I’d post these here before I go to modwiggler and then reverb, fedi gets first crack :)
First up, Mac Salad. It’s a clone of Cold Mac, with a couple extra features. A big mishmash of VCAs, utilities, voltage manglers, and a couple other things, all connected such that they can be easily used separately or in combination with one another. Hard to describe briefly, I’ve written more here: https://github.com/jepyang/Mac-Salad-v1.1-deprecated/tree/main
Happy Friday, everyone. My first new album in a year is here. A Knife Into Flowers is six tracks of dissonant synths, surrealist adventures in distortion, transistor radio surfing and vaguely post-apocalyptic goodness.

"MODULAR MATTER is the attempt to re-think desktop publishing through the concept of modular synthesis. The outcome is a tool with several independent and combinable hardware modules, each of them performing a specific operation with an operation-specific physical interface. MODULAR MATTER can be played like an instrument in order to generate unexpected printed outcome. The process of making the tool as well as the unfamiliar experience of using the tool hopefully sparks critical conversations around tool ecologies and helps to break open engrained ways of working."
