Welcome to another . I've done these before, but they are straightforward and enjoyable. Refurbishing a free !

@jerry 's recent reminded me of something I've long wondered about.

have .

mostly seem to have overflow drains.

I don't think I've ever seen a kitchen sink with an overflow drain, and I've overflowed a couple in my life as a result.

Anyone if there's a practical kitchen sinks don't have 'em? Or is it just "always been done that way"?

retrofit number 6. Less than happy with this one, I give it a B- because I lost twice at bobbin chicken, and some minor damage to the edges of the bottom because I was fighting putting it together last night in the dark in a tropical storm. The fix was I end to put some weight on the fixed central support arm between the rails to relax tension in the cloth while pulling it back on.

Whew! 3 bedrooms (double runs), one kitchen, one hallway, and two outdoor Ethernet runs done. I still have lots of CAT6 cable left, now I wonder if I should throw some runs into the attic. 🤔 (two other rooms not wired: no exposed walls, and not really wanting to go wall fishing, but maybe I will if I have time between now and drywall... whenever that is--haven't even gotten the drywall people identified yet).

@paul_ipv6 posted about managers, fanciful , and his response involving a Magic 8-Ball. It reminded me of a story I've told about one place I worked. I've never told it here.

I was working at a small-to-medium-sized IT/ company that had a few internal products, but mostly did outsourced R&D work for a behemoth company - one of the largest on the planet at the time.

It was classic planning. HugeCo's R&D department would send us a high-level .

Project for next week, hopefully. Two more (free) sling style chairs for re-slinging. Easy enough to re-do these. They will, however, be a different color, as it is past summer fabric season and I'm just buying the cheapest I can find.

Quick . Took this coffee --which was inside holding up a couple of fish tanks, and sanded the top down and put two coats of on, so we can use this outdoors as . Probably should have done the teak oil treatment before we used it for the fish tank, lots of water damage. Originally snagged for free off a curb freebie.

Top of table after sanding and two coats of Teak oil. Shinier. Some water damage still visible.

controller replacement continues. 5V to 12V DC to DC converter. Adjusted to 12V. Electrical tape on the back, working on a big metal surface, LOL.

I'm working a where we're building basically a rolling work cart with tool storage and a desk surface. I'd like to make it not require a power tether but still be able to power a desk lamp and phone charger while mobile. I'm thinking about putting in something like a Bluetti EB3A. It'd be extra great if we could stash that out of reach in the base of the unit but I think it's gotta be turned on and off physically. Does anyone have any experience/thoughts on something like this?

I am working on reducing overhead of process isolation and would love testing my progress on a real world test-suite.

I’m proud to share the news that the redesign for @w3c is now live, a project my excellent team at @studio24 have worked on for the past 3 years. You can read my blog post on this exciting milestone at https://www.studio24.net/blog/w3c-launch-their-new-website/

My latest pet : Replace the "free" sharing services with simple solution where one has full control of (a) data collection (b) data storage (c) data sharing/visualisation.

If you want to give this like alternative a go, I'd be happy for any and all comments:

Sometimes when you are really feeling the Monday and are completely unmotivated, a little #project can do wonders for your dopamine levels.

The other day I fell over the "Honeycomb Storage Wall", a printable hex shaped pegboard solution. And today I printed out the first parts of my deployment, incl. two self designed mounts for my sinus rinse bottle 😊 The latter was driving me nuts thanks to it taking up space on my bathroom sink, and I've been meaning to solve this for ages now. Done!

Picked up this "AI" camera for $15. I'm going to see if I can integrate it into my existing Zonemimder setup (if there's a video stream I should be able to do something). Of course, only after I connect it to an airgapped laptop so I can see what weird URLs it's trying to connect to. Also, it seems to require an app, but I'm hoping I can get around that.

The illustration on the back is top notch!

A blue and white security camera box. The back of the box details a highly idealized scenario where the camera identifies an intruder in a pitch black room, sounds an alarm and activates some lights, and in doing so scares the intruder away. The camera then suggests checking the recorded video and calling the police for assistance (the least believable aspect of this scenario, as law enforcement does not exist to help people).
