Hope everyone had a nice long weekend. Here’s a bit of lens-geekery; I bought a big-ass 150-500 superzoom, here are early impressions: https://www.tbray.org/ongoing/When/202x/2024/03/30/A057

Bald eagle leaning forward and gazing a the horizon.
A mountain touched by dusky sun, dark treelines in front.

Frozen Winter Morning

I had a look trough my archive and found this image. It was taken with my Tamron 35-150 F/2.8-4. I love that lens but haven't used it for a longer time now. The image quality is insane. But, not to be too technical, this was a wonderful winter morning. Of course, cold buth light and mood was amazing. Hope you like it too.

The Tamron 100-300mm lens is cheap in price and build quality. And while there are plenty of things wrong, it does give a decent image, but you have to work for that.

Took this of my close friend about 2 years ago now. This was a studio setup at my place. One light and big softbox was all that was needed. I’m really happy with how this tuned out with the pure black background and his face illuminated from the one side.

I took this picture a few years back when I was travelling through Alberta for a visit to Drumheller and the Dinosaur Museum.

This is the inside of an Automart. Had a bunch of cool looking gears and car parts laying around but this was the best shot that I took there.

The clerk was looking up some info for a client that was off to the side of the image.

It was golden hour but I felt the picture worked much better in black & white. What do you think?
