A Birijita del Pinar/Olive-capped Warbler (Setophaga pityophila)that hopped up to my friend's feet, while collecting nest material. The Cuban name refers to their habitat, usually high up in pine woods. These insectivores are only found in two isolated spots on the east and west ends of Cuba, as well as Abaco and Grand Bahama islands. They nest from March-June in pine trees. Although they are fairly common where they occur, their restricted range puts them at risk. #nature#NaturePhotography#birds#Wildlife #naturecommunity#photography#birding #birdphotography #warbler#songbird#Cuba#Cubanwildlife#biodiversity
There she is! A lovely female Yellow Warbler snacking on the seeds of Queen Anne's Lace.
A lively and colorful warbler, the Yellow Warbler is a tiny migratory songbird with a loud and melodious tune. She quickly hopped from plant to plant, nibbling at the seeds and seed pods in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. We may regard the Queen Anne's Lace as a pesky weed, but to these tiny summer visitors, it is a welcome food source. https://fineartamerica.com/featured/y-is-for-yellow-karen-cook.html#Birds#nature#Warbler
Another warbler yesterday, this one a Cape May. I've been cleaning out my flooded home, and took a breather at a local park. Watching these beautiful little birds dashing around nonstop is an amazing distraction from my little piece of climate chaos, keeping in mind that they are paying a higher price for our mess than we are. At least they don't have to deal with insurance companies! #nature #NaturePhotography #birds #Wildlife #naturecommunity #photography #birding #birdphotography #warbler#songbird
I consider myself pretty darn lucky to just have seen this Blackburnian warbler let alone walk away with a few decent images. I recently put modern tools to work to slightly improve a set of images from 2005 at Magee Marsh, Ohio for this #ThrowBackThursday. Originally photographed with a Nikon D2X that could use a little ISO noise cleanup and resolution boost.
