"England’s iconic hedgerows are under threat, and urgent action is needed to safeguard them for future generations. The government's commitment to reinstating crucial protections for hedgerows, including restrictions on land owners cutting during bird nesting season and the requirement for buffer strips, has yet to materialise"
The #windfarm could, say its backers, generate enough renewable energy to power 286,491 homes for a year & save 426,246 tonnes of #carbon annually... the Royal Society for the Protection of #Birds (#RSPB) says the location is “entirely inappropriate”

Then why not have the wind farm where it causes the least harm to the extent flora & fauna.

It's December so welcome to the 2023 #dragonfly#AdventCalendar featuring a different species each day for 24 days. We start with a Southern Migrant Hawker. A fairly recent arrival in the UK; this one was at #CanveyIsland#Essex in July. They like ditches with very little water, even if they dry out in summer. They're huge compared to most other UK species. #wildlife#insects#wildlifephotography
