A THREAD ON THREADS!

I’m receiving lots of questions about our position on federation with Threads and realised I haven’t posted on this subject for a while.

We have lots of users who do want to federate with Threads, and lots of users who don’t. It’s my job to find a good solution that works for everyone.

Our position has always been to start from a defensive stance due to our technical and moderation concerns.

So what sort of solution do we think might keep (almost) everyone happy?

Zomi Frankcom, an Australian aid worker who was killed in an IDF attack in Gaza.

Australian PM Anthony Albanese says the death of an Australian aid worker in Gaza is “completely unacceptable” and “beyond any reasonable circumstances”, saying the government will call in the Israeli ambassador and contact Israel’s government.

Albanese says the government is demanding “full accountability” over the death.

Political systems based on a duopoly inevitably end up with the two major gravitating towards their respective extremes.
The sensible middle is forced to vote in one extreme direction or the other... Never for the middle.
That's why we need more unaligned independents even if they just hold the balance of power to keep the extremes under check...

Generally speaking... I'm not a fan of movie remakes but #LogansRun is one movie that really needs to be remade...

A bit darker and edgier would be good and a sinister AI instead of the cardboard box and tinfoil robot...

And a better actor than Peter Ustinov in that role...

Totally agree... I wouldn't want a remake to be effects driven but I'd like the story to be told a bit more realistically.
Michael York was quite good and Jenny Agutter was good as well but they were both trapped in a period of time where movies were too soft and full of bubblegum...
Roger Moore James Bond films for example...
