Creatures you should be following!!
(in no particular order)
If I'm recommending them you can be sure they're absolutely amazing, sweet, and make me feel fantastic with every interaction. Check them out and delight in their posts with me!!
Things I have experienced (non-sexual) that are better than sex could ever hope to be:
๐ป Getting my back scratched
๐ป Cleaning my ears with a Q-tip
๐ป Wrapping myself in a fluffy soft blanket fresh out of the dryer
๐ป The first sip from the first cup of a fresh pot of coffee
๐ป Getting cuddles from my soulmate
๐ป Eating fudge
๐ป Having my forehead/hair petted while I'm preparing to sleep
๐ป Hearing wolves and coyotes howling at the same time
๐ป Having a cat do the stretchy-back-paws thing in my vicinity
๐ป Hearing someone is proud of me
๐ป Hearing that something I wrote meant a lot to someone
I want to thank everyone out there who is reading this, because you have inspired me to do more for those around me.
๐ Thank you for your hard physical work, helping keep the gears of the world turning as they should.
๐ Thank you for your times of tireless labor, keeping yourself going, standing up for what's right, and doing what you can to never give up.
๐ Thank you for all the emotional work you do, being compassionate and kind, and helping those you can the best ways you can.
๐ Thank you for all the learning and thinking you do, and your mental work with technical subjects, computers, math, science, engineering, and more.
๐ Thank you for helping take care of the environment as best you can. Everything you do helps.
๐ Thank you for keeping accessibility in mind, from helping get ramps built to just putting alt text on your posts. All these things matter.
๐๐๐
Thank you, friend, for everything you do to make this world a better place. I see you. And I would love to know more about what you do specifically, whether it's just being kind online or standing in protests. Everything you do matters.
You're everything that I aspire to be and always fall short of ๐
One of these days, you should give me a lesson on how to be supportive without coming across as overwhelming
They sleep in our shared bed, and so far have taken the space between Wah and me. I've had extra good cuddles with my new partner, and Wah seems to enjoy snuggling them too, but I do miss snuggling up next to Wah, so maybe I'll try being in the middle next time we all go to bed.
My new partner is a big blue fluffy body pillow named Bluecifur. Don't judge me xD We all fall in love without planning it!
In my head, there exists two brain cells. They cuddle often, so they keep thoughts coming, but what they can hold is limited.
Their memory banks include, basically, like three names that they keep getting mixed up and like 500000 animal facts.
I can't delete the animal facts so I really have no room to learn more names. If I forget who you are, what you've said in the past, or anything else about you, I truly am sorry. My brain cells are limited in what they can hold.
Here are some tips and tricks for your new arrival:
It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you write a post about yourself and what creatures can expect when following you. Tag this post with the hashtag #introduction and pin it to your profile. A lot of creatures here look for these posts when considering following someone!
Be ridiculously nice to everyone you meet here because they'll give you the same treatment. On the rare chance that they don't, block them without remorse.
Don't be afraid to follow/interact with different people in the various timelines from your server and federated servers. It's a great way to find accounts to follow!
Follow hashtags of interest. They are widely used here!
If you need help, ask for it here in the replies and I'll make sure you get the answers you need, or make your own post with the hashtags Help and FediHelp. (Don't forget the #!)
The Fediverse may seem overwhelming at first. I can almost guarantee it'll be worth it if you stick with it!!
Write alt-text for your images. Accessibility is important here (and everywhere) and all images, if possible, should have descriptive text. It should be as detailed as possible, but something like "a photo of a black and white cat with a calm expression. The cat is sitting on a table and looking out the window" should be fine. Just describe what's important!
If you are looking both for creatures to follow as well as followers for your own posts, it's a good idea to write a post with as many of your interests as hashtags as possible, and in the post, request that creatures boost it. Usually creatures here are happy to help!
When using hashtags, capitalize the first letter of each word (i.e. HashtagsLikeThis) to allow screen readers to better process them.
Use CWs liberally. Use them for lewd posts, use them for politics, sad posts, everything you think could be triggering for folks. It's kind to do and many servers have rules against certain content not being under CW.

That's all from me for now, but check the replies to see if anyone else may have #NewbieTips for you!!
Please #Boost so this post can find those who need to read it! Thank you!!
I feel it is necessary to bring this to your attention.
If you see anyone with โโซ emojis in their display name, or if they use these emojis together in a DM to you, they are a victim of domestic violence and are likely seeking immediate help. If you have the resources to help them, please do.
I've read that the black dot as a symbol isn't the best way to get help, however, as it can alert abusers, so be careful about using it in real life or anywhere abusers may have access to you. If you are yourself a victim of violence, please get help and get to a safe place as soon as possible.
Each dragon is completely unique. You cannot lump dragons all together for any generalized statement because there will always be many individuals for whom a statement is not the case.
For instance >
"Dragons breathe fire"
"Dragons are scaly"
"Dragons are fierce monsters"
"Dragons eat people and kidnap maidens"
I'm not/don't do any of those things! Those may be indicative of a classic Western dragon from fairy tales, but while I look reminiscent of a Western, I am actually a mammalian dragon of my own design.
Each dragon has a story, and each dragon works differently. Ask us, and revel in the joy that is each dragon's uniqueness!!
