@dgar If a dragon lets you pet their tummy, it's either because they trust you, or it's a ruse to get you closer so they can steal you for their hoard! ;D Sometimes both!! 💙💙💙🐉
looking for something to watch this weekend? "Trans People & Biological Sex: What the Science Says" started as a talk I've given at colleges & conferences, now updated & free for YouTube! addresses virtually all trans-skeptical talking points, as well as intra-community debates about "born this way" & "true trans": https://youtu.be/ZymYiwoRoC0 #trans#transgender#LGBTQ#LGBTQIA#science#biology#sex#feminism
@juliaserano I quite enjoyed this video and learning a bit more about myself as a trans person. But I was sad that nonbinary people were hardly mentioned, and traits still fall into "male" or "female" ones with no room for "other". I have an intersex condition (hormonal) but I otherwise haven't transitioned. I feel inherently "something else" when I look at women and men, including other trans people, even other trans people that refer to themselves as nonbinary. Being nonbinary, like being intersex, is a huge struggle for some of us because we're so misunderstood.
You may have answered this in some of your other writings, and if so, I apologize! But I was SO CLOSE to sending this to my mother and I realized it still plays into her binary way of thinking.
In any case, thank you! This did help me understand better some of the talking points that gender critical people raise, and some ways to refute it. It helped me and I'm sure it'll help plenty of others. :3
They're shady, in my opinion. Being around them leafs me feeling pretty anxious. I have heard their bark is worse than their bite though, so maybe I'll branch out and give them a chance. They do seem to be fairly poplar. I think I can stick with it! Woodn't yew do the same thing? Maybe I'm just a sap, but I can't stay upset at anyone; I just end up pining away until we solve things. I beleaf that's okay, though! At least I'm logged into my Masto account and can post this for you all to see! Don't face-palm at me. Now I'm going to take a nap. For-rest. ;3
@Tim_McTuffty@actuallyautistic Much love, Tim! You've got this and we all love you for whatever you do and whatever progress you make. I'm so proud of you!! 💙💙💙
Dragons can come in a myriad of different colors and styles and can change to match any flag.
And, might I say, we dragons are fierce enough that any opposition is scared to face our wrath.
What say ye, internet? Shall we make dragons another pride symbol to go with all the other amazing ones? :3 Let's let our inner dragons free and steal this symbol for ourselves!!
My treasured, most excellent followers, amazing fedizens, mischief-makers, music-lovers, and creatures of multiverse. I’m excited!
Today, under the light of a full moon, I present to you, a brand new Dgar song! Airlock is out now!!
Also, I have bonus shenanigans.
I’d like to give some algorithms a good punch in the face, and shock them into noticing this, my first new release of the year. If you would be generous enough to give my new track a play (or three) on your favourite streaming service (and your second and third favourite streaming service if you’re up for it), I would very much appreciate it.
This experiment will need a lot of people, so please don’t scroll by. I really do need your help to do this. It’s a short song, a bit over two and a half minutes, and I’m really excited for you to hear it!
It’s my dream that I can spend my days making music and sharing bad jokes for all you beautiful beings. I’m working hard right now to release at least one new song per month for 2024. The goal is to supplement the income from my part-time job, at least enough that I don’t need to get a second job.
Additionally, if we can make a meaningful impact on a song release with this kind of action, I’d love if we were able to help other musicians and songwriters of Mastodon with their song launches in the future. Perhaps we can come up with a hashtag for this kind of mission? Please leave your thoughts, suggestions, and expert knowledge in the comments.
I’ll pin this toot, and share the insights, stats, and relevant results for this experiment in the comments as they become available.
Thank you for your help in my attempt at breaking the interwebs. Hopefully we can give some algorithms something to think about!
Boosts are very much welcome and appreciated! I adore those favourites and likes too!
