Yesterday, most of the just-opening buds like this one had fallen to the ground. There are hundreds of unopened buds, but I don't expect any more flowers this season.

It's no secret that the backlash against Disco was racist and homophobic. People of Color and queer people came together to dance and have fun, in public, in a safe space, and the "Afraid Somebody Somewhere Might Be Having Fun" crowd hated us for it.
Roundtree's name is synonymous with SHAFT, but he accomplished much before and after that historic movie.
Roundtree began modeling for EBONY while in college on a full football scholarship. After school, he went to NY where he studied acting and joined Negro Ensemble Company. There, he played boxer Jack Johnson in THE GREAT WHITE HOPE, Off-Broadway.
