We need to move fast on climate and we’re still going in the wrong direction. We cannot get there without social justice and equality - all eco and justice groups need to pin forces.
I blog occasionally about how narcissists and other sociopaths have most of the power and are literally driving us of the climate cliff: www.briangordon.ca.

Israel is a terrorist state, latest example:

"‘At that point the army gathered us and ordered us to raise our hands on the walls,” he said. “The settlers were free to terrorise us. I have never been attacked so brutally before."

Wow, I can't imagine another group of professionals that has "almost a quarter" of its membership protesting. That should be a clue how serious climate change is.

"Almost a quarter of the scientists said they had participated in climate protests, as citizens who are deeply worried about global heating. This included scientists from every continent, including those from the US, Argentina, Germany, Bangladesh, Kenya and Australia."

Gentleman appears to be blaming covid lockdowns for mental health issues among young people, which in turn is causing high absenteeism. It couldn't be that the pandemic is not over, nooo.

"the number of people out of the labour force because of ill health is up by a third on pre-pandemic levels."

Also no mention of the when wondering why despair is doubling.

This is what happens when you run anything, including universities, as for-profit businesses rather than what they are and should be.

"It's a cash cow," said Richard Kurland, an immigration lawyer and policy analyst in Vancouver. "Each student likely generates at least $20,000 for an educational institution, and we're talking about thousands and thousands of students."

To those who complain the Palestine protests are ‘too much,’ wait until you see the climate ‘protests’ (possibly riots) that are coming soon.

"Many of the scientists envisage a “semi-dystopian” future, with famines, conflicts and mass migration, driven by heatwaves, wildfires, floods and storms of an intensity and frequency far beyond those that have already struck.

“I think we are headed for major societal disruption within the next five years,”

It’s like Biden and Democrats are trying to lose, trying to stir up more angry and disillusioned people to protest.

“The Biden administration was wrong to use an emergency measure to stop youth plaintiffs from having their day in court,” she said in a statement. “The real emergency is the climate emergency.”

Elon Musk's Starlink pollution is an unprofitable dead end.

"trying to provide the entire globe with internet via satellites — instead of expanding coverage with cell towers where needed — could prove difficult, with speeds already beginning to decrease in 2022.

"In other words, SpaceX will have to pump out untold numbers of satellites to keep up with quickly growing bandwidth demands."

This is a horrific story but a pretty good indicator of the state of Canada’s once-vaunted healthcare system.

This quadriplegic gentlemen goes to the hospital after his third respiratory infection in three months. ( )

He elects for Medical Assistance in Dying.

On Netanyahu:

“He’s going to end up being one of the most successful politicians and most destructive public servants to be on the world stage in the last quarter century, because he’s successful if you measure it by maintaining his own position but...he...has made Israel less safe and less secure, there’s a real lesson there. You can be successful as a candidate and as a politician but end up being unsuccessful or even destructive as a public servant.”

British meritocracy in action:

"0.3% of the British population owns 66% of the country, and these 160,000 families who own two-thirds of Great Britain largely descend from the army of William the Conqueror — the first Norman King of England who first conquered the country in 1066."

Netanyahu is almost certainly a sociopath, as are Trump and Putin. Everything they touch, dies. Netanyahu may destroy as well as Gaza if he and his fellow extremists are not stopped.

Laying the foundation to privatize Canadian health care:

This article largely blames social media for this:

“For the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, happiness has decreased in all age groups, but especially for the young, so much so that the young are now, in 2021-23, the least happy age group,”

Sure, it’s not the climate crisis, our leaders pandering to the rich, crackdowns on protests, rising autocracy by old white men, skyrocketing housing prices…nah, it’s social media.

Polly is a pathological liar and Conservatives are fools - and not nice ones. Every single election, almost every media outlet in Canada endorses the Conservatives. Yet, we get this nonsense:
