@Shivviness @Saltssaltgirl I agree with you, but here in Scotland all children up to 16 get a Scottish child payment of £25 a week and that’s in addition to child tax credits. Children also get free school meals and everyone up until 22yrs gets free bus travel. Is it perfect? No, but it makes a huge difference and it has pulled people out of poverty - something the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child has commended.

@simon_brooke @kim_harding it was big news a few weeks ago when he was arrested. But because it’s a live case the media cannot comment on anything other than what they are being charged with and timeline for court cases. I must admit I did a double take when I saw it was his wife who was charged alongside with him. Up until now I just knew it was an un-named woman.

@MartinVeart good luck with that. My lot have stated they would go to jail rather than have anything to do with the British Army. I support them because I wouldn’t either. They are far from unique in Scotland and imagine large numbers in Wales and NI will say the same.

@ScepticalScot1 for once SkyNews exposed him - they released a 13 minute clip from filming that day which showed he was lying and antagonising and could have legitimately been arrested for police assault. He was on Kay Burley yesterday with John Mann who’s the Gov advisor on anti-semitism. Was all smug until he was exposed then John Mann exposed him further providing evidence of previous activity, Falter then whimpered I’m not going to speak to him at which Burley chewed him up.

I'm so sick of this bullshit perpetual victimhood narrative. Gideon Falter is all over the news this morning, being interviewed about antisemitism, when he deliberately waited at an intersection for a protest he knew was taking place, in order to provoke a reaction. I doubt the fact that he brought bodyguards and cameramen, and actively refused to be lead up the road where he could cross and be escorted by the Met, is being mentioned AT ALL.

They hope to remove Palestinians and all non Jews in any way from their land to create a bigger Israel. They also are sucessfully driving Armenian Christians out of East Jerusalem. Zionism has nothing to do with Judaism. Zionism is a political ideology, much in the same vein you get far right racists saying England should only be for white English.

@joeinwynnewood @heidilifeldman the problem is that Netanyahu’s replacement (politically) will not be an improvement. Even “moderate” Ganz, the USA’s preferred man, holds the same views as Netanyahu where Palestinians are concerned. Young Israelis are very much right wing with most holding far right views.

@fkamiah17 @BashStKid I cannot fathom what there is to investigate. IF she mistakenly did not pay [less than £2k] CGT it’s too late for HMRC to claim. IF she used a different address to that on the voters register it is also too late to fine her - would only be a summary offence. This stinks the same way they targetted Sturgeon. She’s big enough to handle the politics, but this is crap on her family
