If you think spent nuclear fuel is a problem, you're either not well informed or you're actively being the problem.

SpookieRobieTheCat,
@SpookieRobieTheCat@mastodon.social avatar

@collectifission What are these solutions that are being blocked? I've not heard of anything remotely resembling a solution. I'm not a scientist so maybe I've not seen them. But even a recent Wild Thing podcast, season 3, about nuclear energy didn't provide any solution. Radioactive waste is forever, at least measured by our existence.

SpookieRobieTheCat,
@SpookieRobieTheCat@mastodon.social avatar

@collectifission
Thanks for the link. Lots of good articles. Looks like the French have a good system for recycling. Although there's still waste, its reduced. And by saying the radioactivity is forever, I did say by our length of living. The radioactivity is 200-300 years. And it accumulates. All waste is bad. There are people fighting for clean rivers, lakes and oceans.

You receive a call on your phone.
The caller says they're from your bank and they're calling about a suspected fraud.

"Oh yeah," you think. Obvious scam, right?

The caller says "I'll send you an in-app notification to prove I'm calling from your bank."

Your phone buzzes. You tap the notification This is what you see.

Still think it is a scam?

SpookieRobieTheCat,
@SpookieRobieTheCat@mastodon.social avatar

@Edent There's only two ways I'll accept a notification from a business. If I'm in the room with them, like at my wireless company, or if I'm on a website trying to make a purchase. No one in the middle. Most places won't call you. And if they do, take a message, go to their business or call them at a number you know os legit.

Tesla is also getting rid of its public policy team, despite robotaxi ambitions.

He's a giant mess. Governments have got to stop doing business with his companies.

UPDATED, by me: U.S. health conglomerate Kaiser disclosed a data breach affecting 13.4 million members.

Kaiser confirmed it was sharing patients’ information with third-party advertisers, including Google, Microsoft, and X (formerly Twitter).

In a statement, Kaiser blamed "certain online technologies, previously installed on its websites and mobile applications, may have transmitted personal information to third-party vendors.”

@zackwhittaker Every insurance company sells your data. Pharmaceutical companies buy the data and have data on every insured person at United Healthcare, who also had a giant data breach.
All of this must be stopped.
