I generally have found the trend towards "let's illustrate this blog post / new story with a Midjourney image" to be a little dreary ...

So many of the images tend towards "sci-fi hyperrealism" that it gets boring after a while

(And man, I'm someone who grew up on Omni magazine covers, so normally I'd love this stuff, lol)

But, I will say, the Midjourney illustrations for this Boing Boing post are total <chef's kiss>

I'm pretty sure that in the Star Trek future the word Engineer just means Maintenance or Ship Mechanic, or writers aren't really sure what most Engineers do...

@RickiTarr Mine primarily came out as physical touch, but I cracked up at this question in the quiz. We have one car, it is electric. So when I read "filling my car" my thought was: "filling my car with what? Teddy bears? Shaving cream? Live ferrets?"

There's a 2016 movie called "Paradox" where a team of scientists invent a time machine, one of them travels an hour into the future then back to test it, and then… things get weird.

The writing is bad, the acting is corny, and the special effects are literally laughable, but the way they handle the time travel is actually pretty interesting. https://imdb.com/title/tt4540434/

Do you feel like your life experiences have crystalized and focused what you believed when you were younger? Basically, same beliefs, just better understood. Or have you radically changed as a person over time? My own addendum is if you feel like explaining why, I'm always curious to know!

Huy Fong Sriracha has reappeared on the shelf at my local grocery store for the first time since November last year. Interestingly, the color is noticably more pale than the pre-shortage bottles I still have. Curious if it will taste any different…

#1 best substitute, closest taste and texture to the original is this stuff from Tetsujin. Not really even a close competition IMO, among the 14 alternatives I have bought. https://mastodon.social/

I also like both Melinda's and Yellow Bird for what they were, even though they taste noticeably different from the original Huy Fong.
