Day 35 of recovery break. Today was 27km of . Started off fairly cool (2Β°C), but warmed up quickly. Almost everything is green now. Really enjoyable ride around , even if I nearly swallowed a bug while in Stanley Park.

I can't believe that they're offering CAPE (my union) a slightly better deal than what PSAC got after a strike. We didn't even do anything. So insulting for PSAC employees.

I just updated my website with all the night sky satellite light pollution simulations I've made so far - all the latitudes where I've given satellite pollution (mostly remote) talks, and a couple extra that I was interested in seeing.

If Starlink, Oneweb, Kuiper, and StarNet get the 65,000 satellites they're planning for, and they are as bright as a typical Starlink sat (as measured in July 2021), then this is what your sky will look like.

@MarcinW @sundogplanets Quite possibly, though I’d expect SpaceX to be able to keep their own spacecraft out of each others way. I can easily see a chunk of space junk colliding with a SpaceX satellite, and that causing a chain-reaction of collisions.

A lot of times I'll just ignore an issue while running because I usually get used to it. Today my laces were digging into my feet. So I decided to stop and fix it. Kind of amazed the difference it made.

Recovery is progressing. Today is injection #3 doc said it will take 6 weeks to fully take effect. That times up perfectly. I'll be in Leadville in 7 weeks.

I keep forgetting to use the hashtag.

@Patuleia I’m not sure I’d want to be president of anything, but I appreciate the sentiment. If I’ve learned anything on , it's that are friendly, supportive people.

Context: prior to moving to Mastodon late last year, I interacted (regularly) with exactly one other runner on Twitter/Instagram in all the time before.

Friendly and supportive people are exactly who I want to see on my social media.

Just got back from another 5km run. Forced myself to run the entire first kilometer today and made it in 6'48". Didn't manage to make the remaining 4km in under 8' each then though.
