Day 32 of recovery break. Nearly 26km of in , before the rain and wind arrived. Good ride, lots of goslings (not Ryan) all over the place. It's really something how such cute fluffballs turn into crotchety geese.

Great run this morning! I ran/walked almost 6k in the time it used to take me to do 5, got my fastest 5k (45’ 7”), and burned the most number of calories on a run ever since I got my Apple Watch 3 years ago. My watch’s rings are very happy and so am I. Now I’m going out to have breakfast at a café, then I’m tweaking my presentation for my 3rd and final studentship interview. It’s all go!

    @johnefrancis @jleiper I’m also curious as to the criteria for evaluating the level of spiciness for a ride. Number of red lights? Slow cyclists? Pedestrians being random? Crows? Ambient temperature? How breakfast is feeling? Sounds like a complex spreadsheet. 🤣

    "Terminator: Dark Fate" is a great terminator movie. More than the usual number of time travel paradox considerations, and a handful of character consistency issues. But generally good fun.

    The thing that bugs me most is the appearance of a snowplow on the property of a Mexican car parts plant. And several hours by train south of Laredo, in a classic Mexican desert environment.

    Just got back from another 5km run. Forced myself to run the entire first kilometer today and made it in 6'48". Didn't manage to make the remaining 4km in under 8' each then though.

    This afternoon, @TAV and I biked out to Lansdowne to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
    After seeing the teaser way back, I muted every thing related to it, carefully avoided reading conversations in groups that had seen it.

    And then Cineplex bloody well spoils the movie in the “Pre show”.

    New work equipment arrives tomorrow.

    What brand of laptop do you think they ordered me? Am I also getting two monitors? What size will they be?

    And my favourite: is it shipping straight from the manufacturer, or do we have an MSP (I doubt we have our own IT team) handling that and they are shipping it to me? Will it be freedom on day one or watered down? (Don't worry, I won't use it for non-work things!)

    I had a long run scheduled today. Hours/distance whichever I hit first. Getting out of bed was a slog. I am going to walk on my treadmill slowly for a couple of hours while doing some work. After lunch with my mother, maybe I will be feeling it. I don’t know what the cause of my hesitation is. I am feeling fine. Just unmotivated.
