Yesterday Justin Trudeau revealed that agents of the Indian government murdered a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil. When Canadian Sikhs went to post about it on Facebook, the platform removed their posts as a violation of Indian law.

@dancinyogi My thought is that hopefully for most, as we log world experience, as we gain wisdom, and age, that we gain the ability to place ourselves in another's "shoes" thus gaining "sentimentality". :hmmyes:

@georgetakei Extremely unfortunate! How bad do you have to be when you are forced to apologize?! I just got out of project with an abusive manager and I'm sure it was minor, almost nothing compared to this and many other situations.

last night I stepped outside for a minute then sat down because a haunting cello and violin piece was being played by people down the street and there's something magical about live music floating over to you on a night breeze so I stayed there becoming a little melancholy, probably one step away from imagining myself as the abandoned lover in a serious sexy french film when suddenly a bee all yellow fluff and orange pollen flew up my nose and this folks is how the universe keeps us humble

@Krisss Yes indeed. I'll get there eventually I have lots of picture I want to convert to paintings - sort of a blend of realistic and figurative (as you stated?). I'm already allowing myself to paint what I want more than what the picture shows.

@dancinyogi Probably yes with the possibility of extenuating circumstances. A solemn promise given, and then broken means, depending on the cost to that individual it may be easier or to break future similar promises.

@Krisss I'm still learning oil painting with my current art mentor. I've completed one painting and I am close to completing a 2nd one. My method is to paint from photographs I've taken on my many canoe and hiking trips. I think if I were to include people in my paintings they would be more like David Lloyd Glover sort of "out of focus" in the background. The landscapes are not unlike Graham Gercken in style-with Canadian shield rock, Boreal forests, or other trees native to prairies.

@Krisss I think consistently for 1.5 years but I'm not sure consistent is an accurate description - Summer has been too busy with friends and family and work. My last 3 hour session, in studio, was in mid June - now in August I have two sessions booked - history in art has mostly been in elementary and grade school - and now in my 50s I am finally putting in significant effort, learning brush strokes, blending, and concepts of layered painting.

    @skykiss Yeah telling people what they can and cannot post (as long as it isn't hate speech) is unacceptable behaviour. If you don't like what someone posts- the solution is simple- don't follow them. Or block them- or filter them. End of story.

    What Is The Seven Mountains Mandate? A movement among many right-wing aka christo-fascist, that embraces the notion that religion, specifically Christianity, should have dominion over all aspects of society, particularly our government.

    As insurrectionist Lauren Boebert put it bluntly:

    “The church is supposed to direct the govt. The government is not supposed to direct the church.”

    To believe this, of course, Christian nationalists like Johnson and Boebert reject the entire notion of the separation of church and state that is clearly stated in our Constitution.
