i waited for over 12 years for artist Lyndal Osborne’s handcrafted imaginary bio organisms to come back to the Alberta Gallery of Art, and they finally did. she taught at UofA, and her works always give expression to the oceanic palette of her childhood home in NSW, Aus.
this exhibit is composed of handmade seeds, blown up 10000x their size, as if through a microscope
if you happen to be in edmonton, drop by the AGA to see this piece - it is up on the third floor.

A few years ago I ran a poll on Reddit asking this very question (knowing the demographics were then a majority of under-30 males), and the overwhelming majority based their lack of participation on inconvenience. It was just too damn much trouble to mark & submit a ballot. Many wondered why they couldn’t vote by phone (comparing voting to banking apps that are considered to be secure).
I know it’s anecdotal and unscientific, but I did get a large response. The 18-25 demo has also the lowest turnout.
Each page yesterday took him just a little more than a minute, so this will take >30 mins.
Between that & the testimony readbacks, also expected to take >30 mins, there will likely be >1 hour this morning w/the jury in the courtroom, not actively deliberating.
As you can see in the report, our monthly donations have taken a big hit since moving off of OpenCollective. Now's a great time to support the server—every little bit helps: https://ko-fi.com/sfba_fedi
