This debacle is beginning to sound like a SCOTUS coup, with the U.S. Constitution & all residents (including immigrants, LGBTQIA, women, voters) as victims.
It’s alarming there is no immediate recourse available, and also alarming to see the fear nearly every elected person in DC manifests.

It looks to me like the SCOTUS majority is not merely disinterested in being perceived as legitimate, but actively enjoys being able to exercise power that appears illegitimate to do things that a majority of the country opposes.
There is something disturbing at YouTube. Just try finding that De Niro/Biden by any search criteria. All you find is the stories about his presser in NYC without scrolling thru endless irrelevancies. It’s uncanny that any search could be this bad. It’s willful. See for yourself.

With “campaign ad” added to the searching got about 50+ videos including ones that looked like a campaign ad plus story. I didn’t watch any. This was on the YouTube app on iPhone iOS.

This makes excellent sense to me. If we collectively are to hold off the existential calamity of #ClimateCrisis, a good portion of our consumerist economy will take a huge hit — even as some is replaced by more sensible options. Wholesale tourism would be at the top of my list of sacrifices to the gods, even as I too have indulged in unnecessary air travel in the past.
