@BasicAppleGuy I slipped on the glass spiral stairs at the Fifth Ave Apple Store and sat on my white MacBook. They replaced it on the spot.

Then later spilled tea on that laptop and it worked fine except couldn’t operate without being plugged in.

    Does this make any sense to computer people?

    My computer has been really slow, so I got some new RAM. When I installed it in two empty slots, one of the two cards started smoking.

    I took the new cards out, and moved the old cards to the two slots where the smoking was just to see if those slots still worked.

    And now … my computer is super zippy. No new RAM. I just moved two cards to the other two empty slots.

    That seems super weird to me, but is it something people have heard of before?

    @grammargirl maybe there was a foreign object on the contact that caused the smoking and blocked a contact point? (This is a wild guess)

    My new tinnitus seems to be a hum at roughly 160Hz, which is apparently uncommon. And it disappears if there's any external sound around there, so it seems like low frequency background noise is the way to go to.

    The one that works the best for me in Dark Noise is the "spaceship" background hum, so I will be sitting on the bridge of the Enterprise for the foreseeable future!

    I’ve been really bad at social media the last few months for lots of reasons, most mental health related, but is Mastodon stuck in the same idiotic debate about how the shot on iPhone aspect of Monday’s event is problematic and misleading b/c they used said iPhone alongside pro gear? B/c this is truly the dumbest outrage tech thing I’ve seen in months and months. Like it is genuinely insipid and we’re all dumber for even entertaining it.
