Seeing the fanboys fight over what screen update frequency to have on your phones ("90!" - "120!" - "144!") while I sit on 60, because I enjoy a concept known as "battery life".

Having an AI ("Windows Recall" is enabled by default) that tracks every move you do on your computer and of course has no filter (Microsoft's own FAQ clearly states it will remember every password you type) is idiotic. But Tech bros are frothing at the mouth for anything AI so here we are.

Looking at the settings, it seems you can exclude certain apps, but you still have to customise it.

TBH, wouldn't this be incredibly dangerous in domestic abuse situations? Even if everything is done locally, an abusive partner could spy on everything!

So, this was released today. My third stamp with Canada Post. Qarlinngua (The pants). And technically my second stamp with a family member in it, as the tiny figure in it is my son Travis. Now for one with Hilary in it.

I’ve very proud of all of these, beyond the cache. They are about my home, and family. And also my family has a long history with the Post Office, 101 years. My grandfather, father, and brother were all postmasters in Roblin.

I hear there's a photoshop going around of a cybertruck with faux woodgrain paneling on the sides, so this seems like a good time to remind people of this photoshop I did a couple of years ago.

ddlyh,
@ddlyh@topspicy.social avatar

@MLE_online The Cybertruck and the DeLorean have a lot in common (well, the shape, the mechanical issues, the finish and the fact they both seem to have been designed by a 9-year old) but while the DeLorean was used counterculturally and was a passion-project that bankrupted its creator, the Cybertruck is propping up a billionaire ao it's nowhere near as cool...

There was an idea that aired on the programme Genius around 15 years ago that was similar in some ways: have a duvet that wraps around a double-bed so that if one person hogs the thing and pulls it towards them, it just rolls around the bed and the other person gets the bit from below (if that makes sense). I thought that idea had legs, but AFAIK no-one has made one (at least not since it aired)...

I have a Logitech Squeezebox Radio in the kitchen that I used to listen to BBC World Service with (since Swedish DAB refuses to carry BBC unless they pay money, so Swedish DAB will suck forever until it dies).

Logitech announced in late January to shutdown the online service that makes it possible to even run the radio and in March, it was silent.

The only way to use it now is to run your own local Lyrion Media Server (fmly: Logitech Media Server). 1/x

ddlyh,
@ddlyh@topspicy.social avatar

Do the BBC internet radio feeds still work for you then? They claimed they switched them off, supposedly worldwide. I have to use the BBC sounds website rather than the m3u feeds now (they did stop working for me).

ddlyh,

@benjaoming Seems a lot of those links don't work here. I found one for the world service that does - http://stream.live.vc.bbcmedia.co.uk/bbc_world_service - but not for the other BBC stations...
