Happy World Philosophy Day! Philosophy is fun and it is for everyone. We hope to get this across with The Philosophy Garden, go and explore. @philosophy

ergoplato,

@lisabortolotti @philosophy Not sure if it’s just me, but the QR code doesn’t send me to The Philosophy Garden. I get some sort of qrcode maker site.

I would like to say: “Those ignorant ancients!” However, I know people do weird stuff like that all the time even now. Sigh.

Just found out about a new podcast called NeuroDiving. It’s a podcast about “philosophical questions raised by the experiences of neurodivergent people.” Both hosts are neurodivergent as well.

The first season will be about the “Theory of Mind” myth for autism. Really interesting so far.

The link below is for Spotify, but I’m sure it’s available at most podcast sites.

@actuallyautistic

So, finally I got my official diagnosis.

Having someone neutral confirm my suspicion feels validating somehow. Helps to fight the imposter syndrome. It is a relief.

But it's also overwhelming and confusing. I want to tell everybody and live openly autistic, yet I also fear negative consequences. Then again, I'm tired of masking.

Complicated feelings that I don't fully understand.

ergoplato,

@Sci_Fi_FanGirl @actuallyautistic Congrats! I imagine I'll be in your shoes when I go in for assessment in the spring. I am as confident in my self-diagnosis as I ever have been in something being true, but I know from my science side that having an outside expert agree will feel different. It's an amazing journey.

Finally fixed a bug preventing auto-renewal of the certificate for this host, so we should not see any more cursed certificate expiry messages.

Appreciating everyone's patience over the past few months. Getting the site onto new infra has been a daunting task, but now it's done I'm trying to resolve some other remaining issues.

I hope this brings a smoother experience for folks. :blobcattea:

Also, this instance has just hit one year of operation today... :blobcatbirthday:

ergoplato,

@squish Thank you for all of the work you’ve done! Happy birthday to the server.

ergoplato, to GenX

Introduction post now that I'm on a server that fits me better.

I'm a Gen-X Southwest-Louisiana-born Cajun living in South-Central Kansas. I have an amazing wife and two children (all of us Autistic). My education is in Physics/Astronomy though I'm currently looking into moving to Philosophy for the future.

My interests tend to be varied, deeply researched, and cyclical. Some of them are listed in the hashtags below.

Currently, I am a very left Communist in politics though I am never married to an ideology. Nothing I've researched so far includes as much of my morality and ethics but Capitalism is plainly evil. In religion/spirituality, I am a firm (though not fundamentalist) agnostic atheist.

I had my first personal computer in 1991 and was forever tech-focused since that time. Soon after, I was introduced to Linux through Slackware and have been an on-again off-again user of it. I am in the Information-should-be-free camp. The Hacker Manifesto by The Mentor has always been my life.

Above all of that, I am a voracious reader with not enough time to read it all.

With all of that said, I am not a "content creator" (really dislike that new phrase)! I am just an individual that occasionally posts about interests. So, unfortunately, if you gravitate towards that, you should probably look elsewhere.

ergoplato,

@Scary_le_Poo @cwagner it does in British English. American English is so weird.
