@daringfireball I had an AppleVison 1710av paired with my PowerMac 8500 and loved it. Bought both as used floor-models and they got me all the way through design school in the late 90s.

Never had any issues personally and always wondered why the 1710av seemed so "lost to history" (...until your post today). Fun trip down memory lane!

I saw a ton of new albums drop on Bandcamp today. For a minute, I thought it was Bandcamp Friday.

"New Strategies for Modern Crime Volume 1" is 's first album in 6 years. I don't know much about the production, but this album sounds more like live instrumentation than his previous albums.     I compiled a list of the percentage of eligible voters who participated in the Presidential primary Elections over the past 40 years:

    2024- 20.9% (still being counted, expected to reach 40%)
    2020- 60.56%
    2016- 56.59%
    2012- 30.83%
    2008- 40.22%
    2004- 42.51%
    2000- 44.90%
    1996- 40.47%
    1992- 42.18%
    1988- 48.33%
    1984- 48.10%

    In 2020, SF had our highest primary turnout in the past 38 years.

    Aren’t public libraries the most magical places? ✨

    It’s not just the books. At our little library, kids read with dogs, birders gather & teens find tutors.

    And I’ve just learned anyone in the community is welcome to free seed packets of heirloom vegetables, herbs & flowers. No library card required. 🌱

    I just told my kid there's only one toy that I still really wish I'd had as a kid.

    And, granted, printing a random stranger’s recreation of Han Solo's DL-44 blaster at my office would take over 38 hours.

    But, if you account for sleeping and eating, it's basically just a day.

    Point being, never tell me the odds.
