I like the way this flows. Using a Weekender #yoyo.

He does tricks with a very responsive yo-yo that has a counterweight on the end of it. The man is me (Doctor Popular), a 46 year old white guy with a beard and black framed glasses. I'm wearing a black t-shirt with a white lightning bolt printed on it.

My favorite band in the entire world is Nine Inch Nails. Years ago, they broke up and @andypeters, and I traveled hours to see them for the last time. I was devastated they were over. But luckily, they came back.

Every once in a while over the years, Trent Reznor would make a remark about NIN maybe being over and my reaction was always "NOOO!"

But I've been watching the music landscape change so rapidly over the years. And I hate it. I get saddened when I think about NIN trying to play that game. A version of this band that only releases singles to try to get on top of Spotify playlists and make it big on TikTok would kill me. If Trent Reznor had to update his "IG OMG" every day to please the algorithm, I'd probably literally vomit. Not figuratively. Literally. And because of that, if they were to quietly walk away at this point, I think I'd finally be ok with it. This version of the music world is completely awful, and I don't want them to have to be a part of it if they don't want to be. They've given me so much already.

I know the music industry is an industry, and the marketing business is a business, and maybe I'm just used to what I'm used to. But I can't imagine this is it. It's the worst of the music world and the internet in one.

@gabek YES! 💯💯💯 So glad you haven’t given up on music!

It’s such a double-edged-sword too—that there is SO MUCH great music still being produced, but it takes so much extra time to sift through to find it. However, I truly believe maintaining a personal library ‘collection’ is so important in that pursuit too! It can be so rewarding to delve in deeper, beyond just letting the streaming algorithms take over.

Very busy weekend (trying to move!), but still tempted to bicycle down to the library with several boxes of books to donate--on a bike trailer--instead of driving them down there... just to prove I can, LOL.

Almost ready for my
Here you see my trailer. Its tiny, and designed to be towed by a motor bike. So my hatch doesnt even feel it there when i tow it.
On the front (not shown) is a box with the spare wheel, Jerry can of water, Two gas bottles, a cooking stove and assorted tools to setup camp.
On top is a 100W solar panel.
Inside we have 2 deep cycle batteries and inverter. Cooking supplies in the black tub. My tent, bedding and bed are in front of that.
All of it locks up :D

Anyone check out the new album "Volcano" by #Jungle?

I love that they've successfully mixed a lot of different flavors of dance music while still retaining their soulful ‘chill' #summer vibes. Feels like a new direction for the group (especially with all the featured artists' verses), but also a nice evolution of their style.

Apparently their social media manager transitioned to a new position and Mastodon got lost in the shuffle. They are aware of it and are looking for ways to revive it now. 🤞

@ivory so, my iOS app subscription suddenly reverted back to "FREE" mode this morning, and when I try to restore purchases in-app it tells me "No valid subscriptions found" even thought my subscription is active until next year... 😳

I tried restarting the app (and the phone), and also with/without wifi on, nothing works.

Any ideas how to fix this?
