Any individuals out there that offer 3D printing in the UK? I'm looking for some tiny props, walls etc and wondered if anyone out there does anything like that. Happy to paint them myself.

I made a thing 😊 A medal for myself based on a Bronze Age Minoan seal. Original CMS IV 257, found in Malia. Dated LM I-II (so... roughly 3500 years old). It was red jasper so I used a red background. I think it's a crane, though the original publication just said "bird" 😅

Here's the thing, I'm not an artist or anything. But I love Minoan seal designs, and I think it is a travesty they're not more popular in souvenir terms, so I decided to get crafty 😄

An old printing press that used to belong to the local paper, the Royston Crow, and printed their very first edition in 1855, is being used today with some laser cut negatives I made for the local museum for their 40th anniversary.

It’s come out great, and super pleased with the juxtaposition of the new and old technology.

@craiggrannell use a good VPN, Nord worked for me. Set it to Ukrain, purchase and you’re good. You’ll get billed in that currency each month.

Had a tidy up of the games room. My favourite room of the house. Since last time I have 4 more controllers mounted on the wall, another Quest 2 - my son and I like Walkabout Minigolf - and a few more hand helds… ROG Ally and some Anbernic devices.

@darth you’re making Amiga games? Awesome stuff. I loved my A500 back in the day. Populous was the first computer <> computer multiplayer game I ever saw, my brother and my sister’s boyfriend set it up with a null-modem cable.

time for raw PHA filament adventures! yes I have reasons, PHA has more flex than PLA and higher temperature tolerance. But it is more difficult to print.

This is 180/40C, 0.5mm nozzle on a 0.4mm slice.

@moira love seeing a fellow Tinkercad user. I can make anything in Tinkercad. It might not be the most efficient work flow, but it’s certainly the fastest for me. I’ve started trying to make the things twice. Once in Tinkercad and once in fusion. Diffusion was out is normally more elegant, but it takes me about five times as long.

Never been one for screen protectors as always found them too hard to apply. Managed to stupidly get some major scratches on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Bought this £1.65 screen protector from AliExpress and the application system is excellent. Can’t even see it has one and it has completely hidden the scratches. You can, for whatever reason, see the camera in the digital island more now, but I’m fine with that.

Absolutely love it when everything is going, feels like a proper workshop. Some wall mounts for something in my daughters room (pics to follow), a Barbie themed name plate for her window sill, some Steam Deck Perspex keyrings on the laser cutter and just about to resin print something for a friend.

@evawolfangel @moira I love stuff like this. It wouldn’t take an image of my friend and generate a picture based on them until I told them it was an ai generated face and wasn’t a real person. Then it was fine to do what I wanted.

Absolutely love the opportunities that 3D printing enables. Made over £200 today selling those 3D printed controller mods on Etsy. Along with the other 3D printed stuff I’ve sold, the printer will pay for itself in a couple of months.

The Royal family can absolutely fuck off. Can’t stand all the fucking news about them all the time. Top 9 stories today on BBC News are all about cancer treatment for the king. Other important stuff is happening. There should just be a “Royal” section in the news, like there is sport. It’s fucking ridiculous.
