Mostly sunny to start but increasing clouds this afternoon with a chance of t-storms. Models have been remarkably consistent at running a storm straight through Portland this afternoon - we’ll see if that pans out. Small hail, gusty winds, and a brief/weak landspout are all possible. High near 28°C.

Becoming sunny tomorrow and staying mostly sunny for the foreseeable future with highs around 27°C and lows around 12°C.

Rode our bikes up to Gabriel Park in Southwest Portland and stepped away to make a quick find. It ended up not being so quick as it was sneakily hidden but I came away with the find anyway. No. 2168 for me.

Other owners sure do like talking about their e-bikes, which is great because I like talking about mine. Just had a 10 minute conversation with a guy in Hayhurst while riding through his neighborhood. Love the sense of community.

While the is the day with the most daylight for most of the Northern Hemisphere, it is not the longest day in many areas.

In most of the United States, for example, the longest day is November 5 when daylight saving time ends creating a 25 hour day.

Some people want us to think the failed but for me it didn’t. I feel far more engaged with the community here and it feels like the an active small town.

I wasn’t ever here or on Twitter for followers, mostly just to chat about weather, but I also have more followers here after less than a year than I did on Twitter even though I was there for more than a decade. Engagement on my posts is more than the other place too.

Finished my first ride under my own power since like 2015. Only made it 5.9 km but the bike is like 2.5x the weight of any other that I’ve ridden so I’m content with that as a starting point.

@schizanon Waterspouts in Portland are not common. Waterspouts along the coast are pretty common.

We do have tornadoes in the Pacific Northwest, but our strongest are nearly as strong as in tornado alley and they don’t happen as often.
