Ja, absolut. Wer sich gruseln möchte, kann mal auf Youtube die Videos des Accounts 'lockpickinglawyer' anschauen. Der bricht in kürzester Zeit wirklich alles auf, inklusive der teuersten Kryptonite-Schlösser. 😬

Er betont aber auch immer, dass richtiges Anschließen mit guten Schlössern das Risiko von Gelegenheitsdiebstählen extrem reduziert - und darum geht es in der Praxis schließlich. 🙂

I need some advice with (the browser) on . Please read the entire description before writing a reply:

  1. I have stored user names and passwords for many websites.

  2. If I navigate to the login page of one of those sites, my user name and password are inserted automatically (as it should be).

  3. If I click the little 'key' symbol in Chrome's address bar, it displays the name of the site, the stored user name, and the password for that site (as it should be).

Question 2: How can I alter passwords individually (i.e. not by erasing all of them via Chrome's 'clear browsing data' menu)?

Note 1: I am not logged in to a Google profile. Passwords are stored locally.

Note 2: This is a question regarding Google Chrome. “Why don't you switch to Firefox” is not an answer to this question. 🙂

Liebe Menschen auf chaos.social, eine kleine Info wegen der noch immer anhaltenden Spam Well. Leider können wir nicht viel machen, da Mastodon aktuell keine Features zur Spambekämpfung hat. Das frustriert uns auch. Leider scheint jede Instanz auch nur ein mal genutzt zu werden, sprich Limits oder Blocks ganzer Instanzen helfen nicht. Was wir aber sehen ist das Accounts die Follower Only und höchstwahrscheinlich auch Unlisted posten nicht betroffen zu sein scheinen.

@ordnung Möglicher : Ich habe die Benachrichtigungseinstellungen jetzt mal wie im Screenshot eingestellt. Das sollte sämtliche Mentions von Leuten, denen ich nicht folge, ausblenden. Vielleicht reicht auch das erste (und ggf. das dritte) Häkchen.

Die Kommunikation wird dadurch zwar sehr begrenzt, aber immerhin habe ich (bis jetzt) keine neuen SPAM-Toots in den Benachrichtigungen.

Danke für Eure Mühe, das muss aktuell echt frustrierend sein! ❤️

wisst Ihr vielleicht noch eine Möglichkeit, wie wir User*innen den aktuellen - in den Griff bekommen könnten?

Die als Mentions gesendeten SPAM-Toots bestehen inzwischen nur noch aus einer wechselnden Liste von Accounts und einem Bild. Das Muten/Blocken von Hashtags, einzelnen Accounts oder ganzen Instanzen ist da wirkungslos - die Toots kommen von immer neuen Instanzen. Ich habe inzwischen fast zwei Dutzend Domains geblockt, aber es kommen jeden Tag neue hinzu. 😩

Day 2 working on a after >15 years on . Things that really trip me up:

  • No way to globally change fonts
  • Cmd-Tab switches through applications, not windows
  • No folders or groups in the dock
  • Having to activate a window before being able to interact (i.e. select text)
  • No option for "Focus follows mouse"
  • If Apple develops CUPS, why can't I install a printer with just the PPD?

@pludikovsky At least the Dock thing should work: Applications can be added to the left of the separator in the Dock; drives, folders and the bin to the right. After adding a folder to the Dock, make sure to check out the display options (e.g. grid or list).

@pludikovsky PS: A global shortcut for cycling through the windows of an app can be added in the macOS settings. I use CMD+>

@pludikovsky Ah, well … in that case the only option is macOS's mousey-clicky Mission Control thingy. (Having switched back and forth between macOS and GNU/Linux myself a couple of times, I feel you though.)

@pludikovsky This is still possible:

  1. Create a new folder somewhere.
  2. Create aliases of the applications in question and move them to the folder. (Symbolic links work as well, they can be created via 'ln -s' in the Terminal.)
  3. Drag the folder to your Dock - voilà!

Hab heute versucht, für mein Fahrrad Ketten-Schmier-Zeug ohne PTFE zu bekommen. Das ist ja echt schwierig! Von den drei Läden, die ich abgeklappert hab, hatte nur einer überhaupt was PTFE-freies im Angebot, und das war grad ausverkauft.

Habt ihr da noch Empfehlungen, was ich am ehesten nehmen kann, um die quietschende Kette wieder geschmeidig zu machen?

Davon wird inzwischen meist abgeraten: Als leichtes Kriechöl taugt zwar zum Reinigen und Entrosten, spült dabei aber schmierende Fette und/oder Wachse aus den Kettengelenken. Folge: Fehlende Schmierung, höherer Verschleiß, und das Quietschen ist nach kurzer Zeit auch wieder da.

Meine besten Erfahrungen habe ich dagegen mit Trockenschmiermittel auf Teflonbasis (»Dry Lube«) gemacht. Das ist zwar teuer, aber so eine kleine Flasche hält ewig.

@Cyb3rrunn3r Zu den Unterschieden zwischen den Herstellern kann ich leider nichts sagen. Habe solches Zeug auf dem Mountainbike und trotz widriger Bedingungen nie Probleme mit der Kette. Großer Vorteil ist halt, dass an dem Teflonzeugs praktisch kein Schmutz kleben bleibt. :awesome:

@mensch Ich habe nicht die klassischen Schmierstoffe Öl oder Wachs schlecht geredet, sondern lediglich darauf hingewiesen, dass WD40 zur Schmierung der Kette kontraproduktiv ist, weil es schmierende Substanzen auflöst und wegspült und selbst nicht schmiert.

Die Umweltauswirkungen von Teflon kannte ich noch nicht, danke für den Hinweis. Das ist für mich tatsächlich ein Grund, vielleicht wieder auf eine Alternative umzusteigen. 👍

I gasped when I saw this petroglyph--because I found this glyph in Northern Nevada! When I saw it, I'm like, "A flute player? No way!" Flute players, also known as the hunchback flute player or Kokopelli, are only known in the Southwest around the Four Corners area. It appears to be ancient and not recent. Anyone have any thoughts? (First photo is digitally enhance. Second photo is unenhanced.)

@elaterite Perhaps it's just our perception playing tricks with us, and it is something else. Most ancient Kokopelli carvings have a distinct head, and arms bending upwards (holding the flute). This one has no head at all, and the “arms” holding the flute are bent downwards in a rather unnatural shape. Also, the last bend of the legs doesn't make sense: There's a butt, then the knees, then feet - but after the feet, the line continues downwards.
