OK so I like Shatner as much as the next person, but why is he getting an honorary VES award? Did he build or film the miniatures?

In any case I think he could be a host of the awards (though Patton Oswalt is awesome). Would be funny to see him talk to people like he dismissed Bezos on that Blue Origin film, or his (in)famous SNL sketch. Anyone want to get me some tickets?

About two weeks ago the Visual Effects Society announced their nominations. The Creator led the pack in movies with 7 nominations. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse led the animation categories also with 7, while the Last of US led TV land with 6 nominations.

Dang, so one of my external alarms has been going off about 3 nights (or early mornings) in a row. I thought it was a cat, though I found it strange that it had a ringed tail, it was very dark.

After some local news today it might be that I have a cacomistle running around the neighborhood. Hopefully he/she didn't get scared away. Might leave some nuts overnight, see if I can catch a good look at it over the weekend. #UrbanWildlife

Anyone have recommendations for Matter hubs or controllers? My needs are simple don't really want to super automate now. I mostly need cams and window/door sensors. Already have a couple of Nest cams, use a Samsung phone, but I have one iOS device. Really dislike Alexa but not sure if I want a Google or Appme hub. Aqara does.look nice as well
