Must-read reporting by +972 on how the IDF are using “AI” in their indiscriminate murder in Gaza. It’s horrific, and we must not look away. And it’s an absolute nightmare of the usual sorts of AI harms cranked up to the extreme: mass surveillance, "we don't have any choice but to automate", AI as pretext for deadly violence.

    In German language, there's a funny feature allowing compound nouns of principally indefinite length, but mostly they are two- or threefold. So, somebody created the term "Formaldemokratie" which means formal democracy. I created the Hashtag , because I found it a striking expression for what is the case. A polity which only formally is a democracy.

    They don't want a truce. They want "total victory", just like Nazis.
    There's only one difference: The (original) Nazis had serious enemies. And they didn't get support of a superpower.
    So, i don't know how this guy comes to his conclusion. Of course, they can't eradicate Hamas - they can hide everywhere in the Arab world. But they can wipe out and contaminate Gaza for decades.

    Reminds me of Holger Meins, a political prisoner and member of "Rote Armee Fraktion" in Germany, who was starved to death in a German prison in 1974.
    This is how formally "democratic" bourgeois states react, if they feel severely offended.

As the multi-crisis of is deepening and competition between the capitalist blocks globally intensifies, states and their subsystems, as supportive structures of national capitalist classes and their cooperation within imperialist blocks, feel compelled to implement harsher policies, including warfare, to secure profits and their position within the global competition of imperialist blocks.

    I really respect and share your desire for some remains of optimism. But, realistically, there will be neither restoration of Palestine, nor reparations. Tbh, i only see refugee and concentration camps, where Palestinians are doomed to endure for decades.😩 😡

    Norman Finkelstein assesses the likelihood of votes in favor or against sentencing for on the basis of the different nationalities the 15 ICJ-judges have been sent from.
    He counts only 6 nations to vote in favor of the accusation with high probability, besides 2 with a question mark (France and Slovakia). 8 votes are needed. "It is going to be very tough!"

    ich hab keine Ahnung, was du mir sagen willst. Anders als der heute-show ging es mir auch nicht um satirische Kommentierung der Protagonistin. Interessant fand ich, dass 25 Jahre nach dem wegweisenden "Manifest gegen die Arbeit" junge Menschen auf ganz anderen Wegen zu derselben "Erkenntnis" kommen.

    Du beziehst dich auf die Ausdrucksweise der Influenzerin? Wie gesagt, es ging mir in meinem Beitrag nicht um eine Bewertung dieser Person, weder inhaltlich noch stilistisch.
    Und ja, es ist ok, ableistische Sprache zu kritisieren, aber in diesem Fall würde ich nicht gleich als PC-Sheriff auftreten. Wenn du den Beitrag ansiehst, wirst du feststellen, dass es einfach als synonym für "spinnt ihr eigentlich" gebraucht wurde. Oder darf mensch das auch schon nicht mehr sagen?
