A 15-year-old asked me for book recommendations. She says she likes "books with messages, like Fahrenheit 451."

She'd probably like Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist, which both my kids got assigned in high school, but I can't recommend it.

I gave her Peter Beagle's The Last Unicorn for Christmas, because she was reading a fantasy series then, and she loved it "but it was so sad!"

The main way I am finding chatgpt helpful in writing large, complex documents is asking it to write something, spending 15 minutes trying to get the tone and style write by adjusting the prompt, and then saying "damn it, I'll just write it my own self! See, like this!"

It's very motivating.
