We did all the shopping but put off the feast in favor of snacks and amazing leftover fried rice and spending more time together on Christmas Day, so today I’m unhurriedly making Elizabeth David’s Cumberland sauce while the ham bakes and video games happen nearby. David’s books are such an ideal blend of erudition and lazy wit, she’s my favorite.

    @TLB73 @RickiTarr can confirm - once found myself propping up a bar next to Keith Flint, and we ended up having a lovely two hour conversation about life the universe and everything, a very kind clever insightful man.

    Nästa år vill jag skriva en bok. Den ska handla om hur man som vanlig människa ska hantera all teknik man har omkring sig. Lösenord, sms, e-legitimation, digitala formulär, fotodelning, kakor, prenumerationer och allt annat du kommer att tänka på i samband med det.

    På ett enkelt språk så att alla får en chans att förstå och möjlighet ta tillbaka lite av den kontroll som tagits från dem.

    Du läste det här först.

    Och nu har jag sagt det så nu får det bli så.

    Boken ska få heta Tekniktrygg.

    I know it's only Wednesday, but it has been a long week already.

    I offer that as an excuse, of sorts.

    A short video loop of a river flowing from right to left, with long reeds in the background. A large black water bird stands on a pole flapping its wings.
