Democracy sounds great on paper. I haven't seen/been part of any true democracy in my entire life. I've been part of pseudo democracy for most of my life - where at least one(or more) of the essential pillars of democracy were destroyed. I've never been able to participate in true democracy because it's impossible with our current 2-party-swinging-same-colonial-doors farce-full election systems. Many folks scream to protect democracy that wasn't actually ever existent.
I have 4 ficus ginseng aka #Chinese#banyan plants. I propagated 3 extra plants from one strong mother plant. I bring them inside for Fall-Winter. They stay outdoors from May-October - depending on weather/temperature.
I've submitted my paid work leave time needed request. I seriously need it approved. To take place 2 weeks after my last duties to client. I need this time off or else I'm gonna seriously lose my shit, at work. I don't want that. I need my request for additional time off, to be honoured.
I'm dealing with so much PTSD flashbacks & triggers this week, I'm scared to fuck up at work because of them. This week, I'm remembering 2 family deaths from violence from government & one significant death of my Dad, after government covid failures & traumatized by antimasker cops on night Dad died.
This has been such a fucking difficult week for me. I'm crying & screaming, all through it.
Waiting on one phonecall update that will determine my work hours for rest of today & into tomorrow. It's my second MAiD client. I'm waiting to hear back from her family members on her list.
I just got the call. Family wants to spend entire weekend together & wants me to obtain a day pass to take her out to her home garden & fave beach, one last time. My death doula work goes into effect tomorrow morning at 6am.
Have to work out logistics of transport because she is bedridden & unable to walk or stand up by herself now.
The work I do for some people, on their deathbeds, is heartbreaking/heartwrenching.
It's so fucking important for people, to retain their dignity, while dying.
This will be my 2nd MAiD at work, this year. Doing death doula work is very difficult. It is also the most beautiful & most meaningful work I have done in my entire life. There's something quite indescribable about helping people to pass on, in their own dignified ways & in the same people, dying, trusting you to care for them in best ways possible - when they're not your family but trusting you, like family.
It is gifting you, power over their lives.
It is a huge responsibility.
Contained invasives with natives & cultivated pollinator plants. I don't take out all invasives. I do controlled areas for some established ones that are beneficial for my gardens.
If invasives are established, their flowers attract more pollinators & their roots(or other plant parts) aren't choking out & killing my native plants - I won't remove them. I will remove if invasives are choking out & stopping native or my cultivated plants from growing more. I will contain & coexist with them - if they aren't disturbing local ecosystems much.
@msquebanh Oh gah, it's that day.... :blobcat: I missed it yesterday. I remember it, I argued with my dad about it and nearly got kicked out of the house. My parents were so brain washed.
Every year since #Tiananmen massacres happened, I do #memorial#honouring ceremonies for lives lost. I will never forget them. I will never forget their living sacrifices. Whenever I feel loss of hope, I draw upon the courage of Tiananmen students & regain my own bravery. I will never forget their sacrifices. I will never forget their messages for ALL of us, to think & do better ❤️🙏❤️

I'm quite disturbed by many white folks, using very graphic imagery & completely disconnected from what we war survivors faced & posting those stolen images with zero CW.
