I've been busy with work this spring, but while going from the parking lot to m building I found a purple hairstreak. That's a lifer for me, love finding new butterfly species, esp. now that I've been at it a few years.

Photo of a purple hairstreak. Super neat looking butterfly, the colors really are lovely to me.

I found a painted lichen moth! Such lovely things, and last year they were visiting around same time of year, so it's nice to see them again. I had an emerald moth visiting recently as well.

Photo of an emerald moth (probably a white-barred emerald moth but there's a few similar ones so they're a pain to ID)

Found a green oak-slug moth (Euclea incisa). Odd looking thing, that camouflage works well on trees though.

Went birding this morning. Found a bluebird singing and got a nice look at a red shouldered hawk.

Orcas are actually a member of the dolphin family, but they do a killer whale impression.

This year I've been doing a lot of mothing, and I found quite a few emerald moths - always a treat. Here's one of my favorite emerald moth pics from this year.

When I got my first digital camera in 2012 I built up a collection of model catapults and art models for photos.

The catapult investment eventually led to this glorious moment in photography:

We are still getting a lot of butterflies. It was raining this morning, once it cleared up lots headed in.

I'm not sure why so many cards celebrate gay cardinals, but there's a lot that appear this time of year - merry Gay Cardinal Season!

If you start looking you'll find a bunch of cards with gay cardinals on them, some are quite explicit about this.

It's remarkable just how many greeting cards there are featuring and celebrating male cardinals in love, and how few feature a female cardinal.

An org that creates platforms to help support Osprey nesting wants to use a version of this (with a localized fish species) for some of their art. Since they're a non-profit eco org I was happy to donate the art, and they're sending me merch once we get things finalized.

It's been rainy but we're still getting visitors to the pollinator garden like this Monarch. I saw a few queens and hackberry butterflies this afternoon as well.

Got my camera back from the shop, so I went out to visit the owl at the neighborhood owl box. Light wasn't great, used Lightroom's new AI noise reduction on it. It's slow but looks good to me.

Half hearted advertisement for mathematics.

Anyone got some suggestions?

we should tell them about the logics and the theorem proving engines I think

@futurebird There's a typo in "Millenia" there.

Math is beautiful, but that beauty can hard for folks to find, love your work here.
