had to use the internet without ublock origin for like five minutes the other day and was horrified about what an ad-infested shithole it is, i can't believe regular people just live like this, it's like some horrible dystopian parallel universe

Microsoft Recall is going to make post-breach impact analysis impossible. Right now IR processes can establish a timeline of data stewardship to identify what information may have been available to an attacker based on the level of access they obtained. It's not trivial work, but IR folks can do it. Once a system with Recall is compromised, all data that has touched that system is potentially compromised too, and the ML indirection makes it near impossible to confidently identify a blast radius.

Rs are attacking judge, witnesses, prosecutors & trial as illegitimate. This isn't just helping Trump evade the gag order. The point is also to display in spectacle form that their fealty is to him over the rules that make the system function
@GottaLaff i hear you, but I have a slightly different (more cynical?) take on this: the folks who are now publicly defying Trump (by and large… exceptions obviously exist), were out the door anyway because they were old, or facing an election they didn’t think they could win.
They’re doing it because it’s safe and they’re juat trying to save their own reputation, rather than try to save the country by actively defying him from a position of power.
Apple has a history of buying a company, shutting down their products, then making crappier versions of what we lost. Sometimes they do that to their own apps! ::cough:: iphoto ::cough::
@davemark@joannastern because that’s how it has worked. First we get the weak chips for the iPad (pro), then we get pro/max/ultra in the macos devices. You’ve been here before.
