I'm forced to be on corporate socials to drive sales, but I'm here because I want to connect with people, not algorithms. That's something worth cultivating.

I’m well into the Great Microsoft Purge. No machine I own is running Windows any more. I have cancelled all MS subscriptions. I’m keeping one Xbox cuz I own a lot of stuff on the platform but the 3 others (don’t ask, long story) will be either going up for sale or donated.

If they’re all-in on AI garbage then I’m all-out.

As I think about using #fediverse integration more, I reflect that I used to be discouraged there aren't a lot of #puppet people here.

But then I realized: that's not a bad thing. I can be among the first. This is actually a perfect place to be. Imagine being the among the first of any genre on any platform.

I may not have a big audience here but each one of them will be an actual human person. That's valuable.

Having come to the recent conclusion that my “reach” as a content creator (cringe term, I agree) has peaked, I’ve decided to stop worrying about algorithms and other out-of-my hands nonsense. I’m gonna make what I make when I want to make it and not sweat the stuff I can’t control.

The result is a bit more “me” in addition to all the puppet shop stuff in socials. Hi #fediverse.

You should be proud of me. Someone in a Discord I’m on was all like “Hey, AI lets me make a decent ‘painting’ of something without having to commission it and that’s cool!” and I didn’t engage and start a fight with some random stranger. Proud of myself and my new elevated blood pressure.
