@itsfoss it is clear that they are going to move development to countries with low wages to increase their profits. Typical. This means that the quality of the product will go down.
I know Canonical really wants to push their stupid walled garden with Snaps, but c'mon. That's just insane. :blobfoxlaughsweat: Snaps are the reason I'll generally not recommend Ubuntu anymore. It's too much to explain to a Linux newbie why Firefox boots slowly and Steam crashes.
Hm...I'm getting the impression that #Rust is increasingly met with a refusal by some people (it's an almost hateful attitude sometimes).
I wonder why. Of course there are a lot of layers to it, but one is definitely that Rust has gotten a lot more exposure to people and so there are just a lot more potential matches that lead to Err(()) and that's Ok(()) (sorry, pun intended).
But I wonder, if there's more to it than what meets the eye (feeling excluded/alienated/left behind?).
@janriemer personally an issue that I have with Rust is lack of readability. C-like code with the additional complexity of lifetimes and borrowing semantics.
@dimillian What I would like to see as a new feature is this: when showing a reply on the timeline also display the post which the reply refers to. Mona does that and it makes the timeline more readable. Keep up the good work and thank you for this superb client!
I'm just at the beginning of Season 2 so no spoilers beyond that please.
So far it's mostly great. Always wanted a show that explores all the time travel scenarios, including ones with multiple travelers.
I just wish it didn't take itself quite so seriously, especially with all the pseudoscience nonsense. But hey, it's a German show. Taking ourselves too seriously is kind of our whole thing, I guess.
@eloquence It is a very well made series and personally I like the fact that it gets itself seriously. Still, it gets harder and harder to follow the storyline and the characters in the different timelines. It requires very careful viewing.
In case you missed it, the official Mastodon Android app has been updated to include hashtag following and Mastodon's Lists feature! 🎉
The latest version of the app is v2.2.0.
Also, a reminder that you don't need to use the official app at all, you can get most features a lot sooner on third-party apps (e.g. Tusky, Fedilab, Megalodon, Subway Tooter etc).
Third-party apps for all platforms are listed on Mastodon's official site at https://joinmastodon.org/apps (scroll down past the official app).
My girlfriend’s apartment has a router that does absolutely no load balancing. If there’s a computer that’s downloading at top bandwidth, no other device gets any bandwidth at all.
So you can have one computer downloading at 100 megs, while no other device gets internet.
@IceCubesApp It would be great if this app displayed a context when showing replies to posts rather than just the reply in the timeline feed. Mona and Trunks do this by also showing the original post above the reply and in this way the timeline is more readable.
