@stroughtonsmith most threads on the front of my feed are 3 levels deep. Level 1 is an interesting post with context and expertise. Level 2 quotes level 1 with the post “true dis”. Level 3 quotes level 2 with the post “what even are ducks?”

I wanna surface this to my main timeline because it's kinda important to say out loud from time to time:

Businesses do NOT "have to" focus exclusively on their return to shareholders. Not legally, not morally.

That is the misguided OPINION of a 1970 essay by Milton Friedman, and the fact that everyone seemed to just hop on board that opinion is a significant reason why we switched gears into hyper-hell-capitaliam since then.

Push back on this every time you see it.

@kcarruthers He's running a number of private services that are actually utilities, and he needs tro me made to treat them like utilities. Starlink, Supercharger, Dragon. For each of those society would suffer if he decided to capriciously deny service. He needs to be told to run them like a guaranteed utility or sell them to someone who will.
