We should also be very clear that the Christian Zionists in the US constitute the biggest Zionist group. They are seriously promoting theocracy. Just like everything in GOP, there's an unholy alliance of religion & money. The Jewish state of Israel is the vehicle for the second coming of Jesus and also for the profiteering by the arms industry. Remember to hold Christian Zionists accountable for the ongoing genocide in #gaza@palestine
@JapanProf@palestine Their support for Israel stops short of being support for Jews, though; they expect them all to convert at the second coming or be smitten by God.
We've been sent a huge questionnaire from our daughter's psychologist about her childhood and we are meeting with them in a few weeks time for an in depth interview.
There's some suggestion that she may be #autistic and this has played a major role in her troubles over recent years.
I'm suspending judgement because I don't know enough about the subject and Internet research on #autism in adult females isn't particularly helpful. I'm leaving this one to the professionals
Interesting beekeeping discovery yesterday. Used the new battery-powered weed whacker to trim around beehives, and got ZERO reaction to the weed whacking and equipment. I'm curious if this is because they are most sensitive to the smell of gasoline powered weed whackers, or the noise level/vibration of the battery powered trimmers is below what would trigger a reaction. (they are known for hating people weed whacking around their hives). #beekeeping
@ai6yr I'll bet it's the smell; bees don't like bears because of smell, and when I was taking a beekeeping class, got after me because I was wearing wool socks.

@GottaLaff Well, now, see, I don't doom this early on because I used to watch Perry Mason (first run, not to brag or anything, but I am old enough to have watched Twilight Zone and Outerlimits and STOS first run along with a lot of other cool vintage stuff) and everybody knows it ain't over 'till it's over in a Perry Mason episode.
Oh fuck. Throughout the last few weeks I had some time off and I used it to work on my blog, reflecting on a few things...
All this was good, but it also triggered painful memories and I started to vaguely recall some events in childhood. When they come up, I feel like crying, but I can't access all of the memory. Don't know if it's a trauma-response or if I'm overreacting.
Now I feel I have to address this stuff, but it's overwhelming and I'm afraid of dealing with it.
@Sci_Fi_FanGirl@actuallyautistic Speaking from the perspective of someone with C-PTSD as well as plain ol' PTSD (on top of #autism - such fun! /not)...sometimes you need to make a conscious choice to let the 'stuff' percolate to the surface in its own time so that you can process it incrementally and not all at once, because otherwise it can be re-traumatizing.
A friend who was dealing with an unpromising future where he knew he would need to be taken care of in the not so distant future, once told me that his biggest fear would be when the moment came when the last of his independence would melt away and that he would become a burden to others.
I didn't know how to console him. So I just sat with him and listened.
It amazes me how much, as a culture, that we internalize our own care, and the care of others, as a "burden".
@Mrfunkedude This is not any single culture - we have never, as a species, embraced those who are marginalized or disabled or elderly as we should and made it clear to all that none of us us a burden.
That 'repetitive behavior' is frequently an autistic person's attempt to self-calm, not something that needs to be medicated away...not sure I'm ok with this.
