New 5-frame nuc picked up & installed yesterday. We've also relocated the location of the colony/hive to the garden area where it is easier to get to & it is warmer in the winter. Now I'm going to research & learn all about treating for mites. #beekeeping#beginner#bees 🐝🐝🐝
Cleared the backyard of swarm of bees. Plus swarms from last week. Now the question is how many days it will take for another one to show up. (last year, it was usually 24-48 hours before a new swarm of bees would reappear). #beekeeping
Very odd, the bee swarms around here have shifted from moving into hives exactly around noon for the last few years, to arriving between 3:30pm and 4pm. 🤔 #beekeeping

Do not do this, it is totally irresponsible to suggest this. His bees have starved because he did not feed them, this is his error. Bees easily drown in bowls of sweet liquid and as soon as the weather changes you will be discouraging bees from using flowers and tainting their honey. Dwie dodatkowe niedziele w tygodniu to jest to czego było mi trzeba, aby dokończyć żółtą chałupkę. Tak wiem, koszmarnie długo to trwało. Cóż… tak bywa na budowach, że się stawianie chałupy przeciąga. ;-)
I nie, nie zabrakło mi farby. Wiosną przy sprzątaniu doszedłem do wniosku, że najwygodniej byłoby mieć wszystkie dennice w jednym kolorze, bo wtedy można je podmieniać nie wprowadzając zamieszania. Także od teraz dennice będą zielone.
Interesting beekeeping discovery yesterday. Used the new battery-powered weed whacker to trim around beehives, and got ZERO reaction to the weed whacking and equipment. I'm curious if this is because they are most sensitive to the smell of gasoline powered weed whackers, or the noise level/vibration of the battery powered trimmers is below what would trigger a reaction. (they are known for hating people weed whacking around their hives). #beekeeping

Beekeeper's advice for the day: It's springtime, which is swarming season. If you do not want to have to deal with bees in your walls, make sure to either seal up or put mesh over any exterior hole in your house (especially your eaves and siding), particularly holes that are about penny to thumbtack sized. #beekeeping#advice
