#introduction
Hello! My name is ShadowTux. I've daily driven GNU/Linux based operating systems since Ubuntu 10.04 after I couldn't login back Windows XP account. Mostly Debian based systems but I've distro hopped much much more distros through out the years. My main interest currently are on the communication front like LoRa, long range radios, RFID and mastodon etc.

I'm typing here mostly in English but might also type some Finnish.

@SwiftOnSecurity Mostly I'm the command line tool guy but somehow on windows I tend to find my self on the GUI solutions so this has been quite nice there.

Wtf is with a 6 month old matrix server having a 250gb Postgres database?

@jerry Had my own server for myself in use for about 3-4 months and in one month it gathered more than 25GBs DB data. Switched from SQLite to postgres to see if that would help with the storage thing but only got worse. (Also they had upgrade problems on synapse with SQLite at that time.) Used some tool from GitHub to clean old data and to delete bigger chats to keep it working (don't remember the name out of my head) but in the end I gave up for now on hosting my self since it does not have very user-friendly way to clean that stuff up.

I would like it to have similar commands that mastodon has to do cleanup that takes storage.

In the end postgres was like 28GB on my 32GB VM and rest was photos and videos etc so it was constantly full.

    @GossiTheDog there's actually quite many instances that are blocked by nextdns. I've had to white list quite many of them. Mostly S3 or similar storages though. I have you white listed as well so this has been going for a while now.

    Itse kanssa pysytellyt puhtaassa androidissa jo heti ZTE Bladen (cyanogen modilla) ajoista saakka. Nexus 5 ja OnePlussat käyty läpi vuosien saatossa mutta vajaa 2v takaperin tuli siihen tulokseen että ei ole enään puhdasta andoidia saatavilla suoraan ja pixeliä en jostain syystä silloin halunnut jotenka siirryin Appleen. En pistänyt OnePlus 8 Pro:ta pois vaan asensin siihen LineageOS ja ollut siihen oikein tyytyväinen kakkos luurina. Lineage pitää myös itsensä aika hyvin ajantasalla omalla luurilla mutta tietoturvasta tiedä sitten.
    Ei sillä kyllä laskuja makseta mutta rauhoittaa omaa mieltä kun on joku puhelin minkä kanssa voi hieman säätää.

    AppStoreen on nyt alkanut tulemaan joitain opensource sovelluksia mutta aika harvassa ovat ja vielä harvempi jota päivittäisesti käyttäisi.

    Been experimenting on a feature that shows the first post which have been replied to, on main feeds. What frustrates me a lot is to see those replies that I don't know context of. I have to click myself through the conversation to the first post.

    It would help tremendously to see the first post directly.

    @evan I think that this mostly depends on the person. For some it might be easier to maintain them than to be one 'selve' on all the places. For some it might not be viable and there could cause side effects on friends and family and to the person itself.

    Screen recording from Twitter that shows can't even like tweets. Errors all around.

    @rolle Still using tweetdeck so this happened to me yesterday as well. Today I just openend the site back again (after like 24h) it works back again. Looking at Devtools network monitor it makes request to twitter every 5-20sec and looking at EM yesterdays tweets I think it might soon brake again.

    Decided yesterday to spin up test kbin instance my self. Today I seem to get similar error as this https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/397 I know what I'm doing tomorrow 😂
