I found a REALLY nice looking Android app for Bitwarden called Keyguard, but it’s third-party…

I also believe it’s closed source.

I really want to support the developer, but that seems… problematic?

Maybe Bitwarden can pay that developer to maintain it as their official Android app and open source it? 😅

for new Mastodonians, here's some tips:

  • Follow of topics you're interested in, it helps fill up your timeline.
  • Don't be afraid to follow anyone.
  • Use hashtags to reach your intended audience.
  • Boosting gets posts shown to others, favourites are just for the poster themselves (token of appreciation).
  • Make an !
  • Have fun 😁

The redesigned Android Mastodon official app is really nice!

uses the new Android photo picker too. touch targets (boost, favourite) are too small imo.

So I was watching Youtube on my Android phone, with my screen unlocked so I could choose another video quickly. An alarm started going off. Buzz, buzz, buzz. You know what I had to do to dismiss it? Open the notification shade, dismiss a few notifications until I got to the alarm, and then expand that notification, and then hit the dismiss button.

I mean, I really, really hope it's just me not knowing Android. I really do. And to be fair, if I have my screen locked, I can hit a volume button to dismiss the alarm. But my screen isn't locked all the time. Please tell me I'm doing something wrong and that there's an easier way. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Android 13, 1UI 5, Google Clock.

@devinprater i use Samsung Clock and the alarm takes over the entire phone screen, not just a notification

hmm.. not sure whether i should apply the material 3-style navigation bar (pill around the selected item) or keep the old design (just use filled icons).. i mean, if we're going for material 3, might as well make sure it matches the specifications somewhat - as long as it looks nice - right?

@megalodon you should copy Moshidon and add an option to publish from the bottom bar, the top right is really hard especially on big devices 😆

Hard to recommend if I have to resize my images before uploading. Why can't the service do this itself at the point of upload, like just about every other image posting platform?

I wish I could view a version of my home timeline that has no boosts and no replies to other people's posts. This would effectively give me a way to read everyone's original content without getting lost in the noise. Normally I will just read everything, but being able to catch up more easily would be great.

@simon @dgar for android people that use Moshidon, you can disable seeing boosts and replies by going to Settings > Timelines.

Probably in Mastodon too, but idk where in settings it's available.

    Who came up with this brilliant idea that temporarily uninstalling an app on removes all the data without warning?

    On Windows, the uninstallers usually either ask or leave all the data behind.

    On Unix, most of the cruft is left in home directory forever, even completely disposable stuff like ~/.cache.

    But Android is better, "we just removed all your secrets without warning, enjoy!"

    Sigh.

    Alternatively, you could also join Kbin, (kbin.pub) as it can still interact with Lemmy based communities! (Although they call communities magazines and follow the !name format instead of @name)
