There is plenty of wild greenery around the garden and in the forest this spring. In particular, I’ve noticed an explosion of garlic mustard plants which seem to have popped up along our path and throughout the forest this year.

sportsguysean,

Wondeful sketch! I am wondering if you do personal drawings on request. I would love a “selfie” in this style.

sportsguysean, to Weather

Our region was hit with back-to-back freezing rain storms in recent days. Fortunately there was no damage but the ice did create some beautiful imagery on the trees.

It is beyond frustrating that certain people have no respect for private property nor the environment. This is protected wet lands on our property, but our new neighbour doesn’t seem to care about either fact, despite warnings from police.

sportsguysean,

I love seeing train photos on my Pixelfed feed. It’s intriguing that one of the vehicle carriages you captured has the CN logo (all the way from Canada).

This image shows some intensity during action from a girls high school game some years back.

Here’s a photo I shot a number of years back at a local high school boys game.

Volleyball, for me, has always been one of the most challenging sports to shoot photos of, to capture a specific moment of the action. This is one of my favourite images from my career as a journalist.

sportsguysean, to Hockey

This is one of my favourite photos from my career as a sports journalist. It was shot in 2010 and shows a 16-year-old defenceman who had cracked the lineup of a competitive local Junior B team.

I love the colours of nature at this time of year.

It’s incredible that we have shrubs flowering in October here in far eastern . This weather isn’t normal.

sportsguysean, to Mushrooms

These fascinating have popped up each fall in recent years in the forest on our property. I don’t know what they are, but they are kind of attractive.

sportsguysean, to Sports

One of my favourite sports to shoot during my career as a is because of the near constant action and lack of helmets. It is great to be able to capture the expressions on the faces of the athletes. Here is a shot I took at a local high school game a few years back.

sportsguysean, to Trains

Throughout my adult life, I have been an avid train traveller. Here’s a Via Rail LRC stopped in , Ontario.

Our family’s senior citizen poses in the garden on a glorious early September day. She’s a flat-coated aged 10 ½.

sportsguysean, to gardening

Updating my summer-long project to clean up from April’s ice storm, the seedlings that sprung up from the roots of a downed cherry tree seem to be doing well. We removed much of the stump a few weeks ago, filled in with fresh soil, and topped with grass seed. All seems good and healthy thanks to the lovely weather we have been very fortunate to have here.
