Getting into feels a bit like did 20 years ago. It can be a bit overwhelming and it's not fully mainstream/compatible with the rest of the world (yet), but there's a ton of cool stuff here already and great innovation happening in community pockets all around. It's a very exciting time to be here!

@thezerobit Gotta love all those "please be assured that we did not run away with your money" posts. If they can keep it going past the deadline to dispute it with your credit card provider, you pretty much have no way of getting your money back. These types tend to be difficult to locate after the fact.

I'm continually amazed by the community, but admittedly having trouble processing a certain mistrust for right now in light of recent layoffs and comments from 's CEO about replacing people with AI. I'm legit angry about the harm done to Fedora and the world by some clearly out of touch suits and grieved by the human cost of those decisions on people who most certainly did not deserve it.

It's coming at a very awkward time as we're actively evaluating expanding our investments in Red Hat subscriptions in my dayjob in significant ways and these events are giving me pause where otherwise it would have been clear that this was the right move. For example, one of the people who got us to consider using for a current major project was one of the one's laid off.

I'm confident that will continue to thrive in spite of the damage done by upper management at and because it's the community that drives Fedora's innovation. Unfortunately, Red Hat doesn't seem to see that "value" as much as the rest of the Fedora community, based on their recent lay offs of key Fedora and open source community members.

    Getting automatic https on is a particular pain compared to other k8s distributions because of the non-standard "route" by default for exposing stuff. Made some progress with cert-manager today but not everywhere. This is definitely something that's more straightforward to do in k3s.

    I make fun of Pica for desperately begging every day to go out on the roof garden to… IDK sniff plants? I don’t know what her 3min of puttering around accomplishes. (?) But, am i any better? “checking on my garden” feel like a serious farmer! I could feed our family for … hours!

    Today? excitement! a grackle spotted Pica & DID NOT like her. bird starts throwing a fit! cawing, dancing with a grub in its mouth! Were I a bird I don’t think I’d like Pica either.
