Już dawno nie miałem fazy na #LOTR :) Delektuję się zatem lekturą oraz ekranizacją Petera Jacksona, która niegdyś wyklinana od czci i wiary, dziś stanowi przykład doskonałej wręcz filmowej interpretacji dzieła literackiego. Szczególnie jeśli popatrzymy sobie na to, jak różne serwisy streamingowe masakrują kolejne klasyki, z netfliksowym Wiedźminem na czele czy amazońskimi "Pierścieniami władzy" (dotrwałem do końca pierwszego odcinka...).
A wracając do "fazy na lekturę" – podobnie jak nieodżałowanej pamięci Christopher Lee, zwykle wracałem do któregoś z tomów LOTR lub ogólnie tolkienowskiego uniwersum jesienią. No cóż, wiosna też jest dobra – w końcu Bilbo wyruszył z krasnoludami w podróż do Ereboru 27 kwietnia (o godzinie 11:00) ;)
Today my 9yo daughter asked me a surprisingly pointed question about the dwarves of #Moria: if they dug an entire underground realm, where did they put all the material excavated during the process? #LotR
@datarama there was a great joke in Divine Divinity on this:
P: What is the reason for the relatively small stature of dwarven people?
H: It's an economy measure. If we were any taller, we'd have to dig bigger tunnels to get about.
P: How tall can dwarves grow?
H: There was once a dwarf who never drank mead or ale. Poor bugger grew to the height of four dwarves on top of each other. That's why we dwarves drink alcohol from birth - to stunt our growth to a decent size.
These styles of games are not an interest of mine, but I thought it would be nice to share this for the cozy game lovers out there. Enjoy relaxing the The Shire, folks!

March 25 is the day that Gollum seized the One Ring and fell into the fires of Mount Doom resulting in the downfall of Barad-dûr and the passing of Sauron. #LOTR
I like the novel Dune more than I do LotR, and I think the latest Dune adaptation (both movies taken as a whole) are excellent, and mostly faithful to the book.
But the LotR movies, while admittedly taking a lot of liberties, are so monumental and innovative that they still eclipse the cinematic Dune.
That said, Zendaya probably deserves a nomination next year, for playing Chani in part 2.
@gabrielesvelto thats the one about the boy who gets a letter, delivered by an owl, to go train as a Jedi, to master the power of a dark Lord's ring, on the Starship named USS enterprise, but to get there he has to hitchhike across the galaxy?
