I think needs to be described as a programming language for describing types that generates error messages which are often helpful, sometimes perplexing, and occasionally make you want to set fire to something, rather than a “superset of Javascript” (which it most definitely is not*).

(* Want an example? Javascript has true private class properties.)

In my search for a alternative I found , and it looks almost exactly what I was looking for.

It's only semi-social (closed/friends-only), could need an option for public access, and various tweaks here and there – but it’s very hackable (, , , )

thomasreggi,

I am a big proponent of a programming paradigm where writing code and building up relationships and connections leads to the emergence of new, unforeseen connections and avenues. Instead of leading you down the wrong paths and requiring rewrites, coding should sculpt and shape connections, offering surprising new connections for free.

Just came across this article on colour contrast, which I found interesting because of my quest yesterday, of trying to understand why a button with more apparent contrast, actually had a lower (and failing) score by WCAG standards:

https://pimpmytype.com/color-contrast/

Overall very much worth a ready!

catraxx,

I think directus.io deserves more attention! My team and i are using it for an upcoming web project with some spillage into a few potential apps on large displays. It's an absolute joy to use. Very thoughtfully put together, fast, opensource ... what's not to like? Give it a look, they have evolved a lot!

steffo,

walkerb,

In response to my Leibniz test, I got a lot of people saying 'just use numpy library'.
So I thought I'd try it.

Its not as simple as just adding a library - you have to rewrite the function using vector math.

When done it brought similar performance as the version.

Optimized version implemented in vectors in numpy. Performance similar to the looped Java version.
