Electronic Music

Well, have decided to try my hand at creating music with after rekindling my interest in - bearing in mind the last time I used a sequencer it was an MMT8 - and it was new!

This time it will all be though. Cubase includes a simple but handy sequencer called Step Designer and I've installed the free VST plugin called which has more advanced capabilities like 'probability' attribute per note and more... I may be 'asking the audience'.. soon!

@nigelharpur Check out Euclidean sequencing --- pretty simple, yet very interesting.

Their work ranges from gently simmering to outright ripping, mad beats. There's hours of greatness waiting to get stuck into, whatever kind of electronic music you're into.

If you're involved in electronic music-making and you're not white, please DM me on here.

I've just been watching loads of footage and was aghast at how overwhelmingly white the whole thing is. I've seen more diversity at EDL marches.

So, I'm gonna try and do something about it. And the first thing is organising.

Well it's been just over a week since I put my little album on bandcamp and it's fair to say interest has plateaued somewhat.

However, the graph of the playcount over time looks a little like batman peeping over something so that's nice.

It's time to Bonk, or should I say Re-Bonk? 🤔
We have a remix album out with remixes of the previous Not What I Call Bonk Wave Volume 2!
It's full of great tunes, and a community effort to get it out. It was fun to be part of it all.

Get it at Bandcamp or Faircamp, check my post for links and some yum codes:

Various - MUZIK CLASSICS: TECHNO

When a music magazine with some actual taste curates a double-LP genre history lesson, good things happen.

Friends, followers and musically curious onlookers, I could really use some listens today! I'm an independent who makes weird, for listening to from the couch. If you're new to my oeuvre, this is the best place to start:

https://etherdiver.bandcamp.com/album/psychedelic-ghost-stories

10 tracks of alien rhythms, wizard synth anthems and dubbed-out ghostwave inspired by , , and more.

Have a listen! Then give it a boost!

If you're already familiar with that one, and/or like your a little more in the , and vein, your next stop is Metaphysical Shitposting, which you'll find here:

https://etherdiver.bandcamp.com/album/metaphysical-shitposting

This one is more purely and heavily features the use of and other outre tools including multitrack , , and more.

Even if you've checked it out before, I've added multiple new tracks in the past 30 days!

BOARDS OF CANADA - Music Has The Right To Children

https://emcritic.blogspot.com/2014/04/boards-of-canada-music-has-right-to.html

A classic? Yes. Their best? Eh, I think they'd go on to do better, but it's certainly up there.

Sykonee,
@Sykonee@ravenation.club avatar

@etherdiver

Cannot deny, I get a little caustic in there, but I'm nothing if not honest in my feelings about what I'm writing about. 😶

https://emcritic.blogspot.com/2014/11/boards-of-canada-geogaddi.html

etherdiver,
@etherdiver@ravenation.club avatar

@Sykonee haha, this seems like fair criticism (tho yeah, a bit caustic 😅). I'm personally a big fan of weird interstitial pieces on a record but if you're not I can see how this would be an annoying album to get thru. I was never very attuned to the culty aspects of this fandom (hell I didn't realize the time came out to 666 until you mentioned it, and that's a numerological element I like to play with as well 😂) so none of that ever registered with me. But hey, we agree on the best tunes!
