“There were plotters, there was no doubt about it. Some had been ordinary people who'd had enough. Some were young people with no money who objected to the fact that the world was run by old people who were rich.”
Terry Pratchett; Night Watch #Discworld#ITVDebate#LiarSunak#ToriesTargetingTheYoung#VoteToriesOut
I bought dozens of Terry Pratchett's #Discworld books when they first came out, but have lovingly given them all away to good homes during the various house moves since. Now I'm buying them all over again, to read with my 12 year old.
Just received, The Light Fantastic. <rubs hands with gleeful anticipation>
These past couple weeks, I've been regularly tired despite sleeping more than usual, been more sensitive to small setbacks (some of you have noticed on here), but more importantly lost the willingness to improve my current situation.
Several months ago I found my IRL social circle shrinking and I set out to expand it by joining a board game meetup weekly. It didn't pan out as I expected, there was a lot of gaming with was mostly nice, but no socialization opportunity at all. I recently considered the volunteering avenue, but this plan fizzled even before I started for a lack of want.
At this point I'm not sure what to do anymore since I'm pushing away the few people I still interact with and I can't seem to meet new ones even when I try. And this energy/sleep issue is concerning, I used to be able to get out of mental ruts by resuming a regular sleep schedule.
Blocking in the colours on Captain Carrot. Partly to check the colour combos (trousers were too light and needed a chestnut wash) but also to check layering and order of painting.
“But, in truth, it had not exactly been gold, or even the promise of gold, but more like the fantasy of gold, the fairy dream that the gold is there, at the end of the rainbow, and will continue to be there forever - provided, naturally, that you don't go and look.”

To celebrate the Glorious 25th of May, here are some Discworld pictures.
I'm so excited about starting #Discworld II tomorrow night <3 in the meantime, enjoy the art of the game, and a foreword from the incredible Sir Terry Pratchett.
In case you were wondering (and because Hooded Horse had the audacity to ask on Twitter) Llamedos village is growing well!
The view from Herwere's Hill just manages to get it all in. Three-ways Farm is doing well, the market is bustling, and we're looking to expand into Millfield!
Hello all! I read a piece indicating there's an audience for political rants, and I do have a distinct take on that stuff. In my first post, I talk about the way the spook agencies shape the narrative by controlling the entertainment. Richard Pryor and Bill Hicks got induced cancer, Eddie Murphy had to stop being smart in public, and Bill Cosby got a voice because he validated white racism.
Another evening, another mammoth reading session. I actually went ahead and purchased Bookly subscription. We'll see if it was worth it. If not, I'm happy to support the dev.
Not quite 25% tonight, but pretty close. At this rate, I'll finish the book tomorrow!
