@m2m now allows you to share a post by #email directly from #Mastodon. You just have to mention the #bot with an email address under a post (do it privately) and it will email the indicated address with a link to the post.
Benefits ? No need to leave the app, some apps don't have sharing options, the email includes a link to invite the person to join Mastodon, not everyone has their email configured in an app that allows sharing on the device they use.
iPhone Tip, Do you have multiple email accounts, and when you get that sound that you received a new email, you do not know from what account? You can set up a different sound for each email account, and here's how.
1, Go to settings / Mail.
2, Choose the notifications button.
3, Choose last button on the screen, customize notifications.
4, On this screen, you will find a list of the email accounts you have on your phone.
5, Double Tap on the first account name.
6, Swipe until you hear sound and the sound name. Just double tap that to bring up the list of available sounds to choose from.
7, Note. By double tapping a sound, it will play and select it as your choice. So after double tapping your choice, just hit the back button to take you back to the previous screen, and that sound will then be listed as the sound for that particular email account.
8, Just follow the same process to pick a sound for each of your email accounts. #iPhone#Tip#Email#Account#Sound
You know, when I was thinking about posting something about my wish for an #email -like client to #Mastodon, it was initially intended as a reference to me being a completionist, not about #spam. Now, not so sure anymore.
News for KDE's personal information management software 📧 🗓️ 🛫 : Kalendar's contact editor gets overhauled and shares more with KOrganizer, Itinerary supports more travel documents, Akonadi improves database handling, and more.
I understand the reason for this - organization and coordination are difficult tasks. And the team responsible for resolving conflicts should not itself be a source of misunderstanding and conflict.
For this purpose #discord is a very useful, but flawed tool. And alternatives (e.g. #Matrix, #IRC, #Email and #Jitsi) have their own issues - some are just down to network effects, others actually lack features making them less useful for coordination.
• How do people decide which Mastodon instance to join? [1]
• How do people decide which email provider to join?
[1] ignoring fediverse outside Mastodon because if you know that exists you’ll probably choose an instance with specific reasons, and ignoring the recent Join Mastodon intro screen which funnels everybody into the one mainstream instance
Is your primary e-mail account #gmail? As in the e-mail account we would use to communicate, so not necessarily your job related e-mail. Feel free to share widely.
@vfrmedia@jwildeboer I not only refuse to patronize #Google & #Microsoft; I also refuse to send #email to #gmail & #outlook recipients. I go as far as an MX lookup in case their vanity address points to the server of a surveillance capitalist. It’s not perfect though b/c sometimes forwarding masks the role of google & ms. I also do not share my email address w/such users. So I rarely #email anymore.
A lovely start to a Friday evening here and what am I doing? Oh, I'm just migrating all mailboxes and domains from my mail server to another. #mailserver#mail#email#hosting
There is literally no worse way to spend a Friday afternoon, than to try and figure out what that stupid email isn't displaying right in MS Outlook 🤬🤬🤬🤬
I certainly am a lead developer of libcurl, but I have no contractual agreement with either XXXX or YYYY so I do not think I can be qualified as a provider or a vendor to you. In this context, I'm but an individual.
We could arrange for a curl support contract to make me/us a provider.
Just use #friendica and you can post and interact with #activitypub and #email protocol at the same time. The beauty of the #fediverse is that not every platform has to do everything.
@BlackAzizAnansi The same kind of people also get confused setting up #eMail and thus should be forced to get basic #TechLiteracy classes before being allowed to do any tech...

Never in a million years did I think I’d be using a command-line email client but Himalaya is actually really nice (I did set up some fish shell abbreviations for common commands, etc.) I’m particularly enjoying being able to compose messages in my regular editor (Helix Editor).
