New at my Patreon... Planning a Europe trip, I wondered how many nations I'd never visited via plane & a trip to/from an airport? Turns out there are several:
My featured photos on the iPad had a refresh, so tadaaaahhhhh 🥳
This was my first time on the Faroe Islands (2023). A travel company said that 8 days is enough. 🙄 I’ve been there 12 and still want to go back. So beautiful 🤩
I'm not sure I even count as a photographer in the Pacific Northwest if I haven't posted any pictures from a ferry. Here's a few from a recent back-and-forth across Puget Sound for an assignment on an exceptionally clear day a couple weeks back.
The seafront at Brodick on the Isle of Arran, seen from the Ardrossan ferry. Arran is often described as a "Scotland in miniature" and though it's not the largest village, Brodick is the main focus for visitors to the island. Lovely day for a commute on our Marine Highway! (Juneau here I come- time to drop off my truck for some much needed repair.)
I kinda love that I’m putting a truck on a ferry, sailing for 8hrs, dropping the truck off for service, flying home, and then reversing that whole journey in a week. Just to fix an old truck because I want to get up our mountain roads to go hiking. Though, I am bringing furniture back for a friend too. #alaskalife#alaskaferry#ferry
Those eligible would have to pre-register at counters in Pengkalan Raja Tun Uda on the island or Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim on the mainland with their #MyKad and OKU cards issued by the #SocialWelfare Department
Ferry to Surry - we were crossing a river and when the ferry took off, hundreds of birds followed the boat with us. I caught this one over the side of the deck. I love the face and the motion.
An idyllic hebridean view over the Sound of Barra from the island of Eriskay towards the north end of the island of Barra, both in the Western Isles. The Sound of Barra ferry is just setting off on its crossing between the two islands. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/eriskay/eriskay/index.html
I recently learned that one can take a #ferry from Denmark to #Iceland (2 days 1 way) and I am now spoiled and want to do a #Berlin-to-Iceland cycling trip, crossing off two, maybe three bucket list items. (Berlin-Denmark cycling trip, Iceland cycling trip, seeing an active volcano).
The ferry is rather pricey, about 1200 EUR round trip in a windowless double room. But I can do the rest dirtbag style to save some money :)
Now I should ideally find a companion. Anyone interested?
Estonia wants a #hydrogen#battery#ferry and is looking for a builder:
